According to the drawing, the parapet has been axed and in its place is a giant grey mechanical box. I don't know about you but, I don't think 6 more metres makes a good trade off in the slightest. The grey elevator overrun over a seamless glass parapet will visually make things look shorter except for distant angles.

This isn't ten foot ceilings. It's roughly ten feet slab to slab. The ceiling is ten feet only where there is no mechanical.

Hopefully they can make the overun look more seamless when complete. This tower would look great with a spire.

#4. Forma East 262.8m

I had no idea this was so far along. Apparently 2 more floors of podium to go until we see a shift in floor layout.

It's already starting to become noticeable in the area, I took these two days ago. This will make David Pecaut Square more 'closed off' and feel more embedded in the urban fabric. I look forward to seeing this building's impact on King street from a distance.

People are saying at UrbanToronto that the core of One Bloor West has officially passed 300 metres, officially making it Canada's first supertall building.

Congratulations! There was a genuine question if it would get there before Sky but nice it managed to pull it off.

Nothing is official until the building is completed... we went through all this years ago with Burj Khalifa as it took all the height records. As far as record keeping goes, it's just a construction zone for now...

The fanboys have screwed the pooch on this one.

Topped Out and under construction counts as a supertall. Topped Out and on hold (hotel in Pyongyang) doesn't.

Finally, on SSP, the Pyongyang hotel is listed as COMPLETED and unused.

Really? A building's height doesn't count until it's topped out? Who thought that one up?

That makes about as much sense as saying a growing teenager hasn't surpassed his parent in height yet despite being physically taller until he's reached his final height and has stopped growing.

Besides, whether its official or not, it is still a 300 metre tall building.

I agree that a building is not a building without being at least architecturally topped out. I would go further with a finished exterior and occupiable roughed in space. That's the difference between a building and a tower/ structure

Supertall status for topped out structures tied to construction status is peculiar. Architecturally topped out is architecturally topped out.

One Bloor West is supposedly going to structurally top out in October of this year and be completed in early 2027. Early occupation probably start at the end of 2026.
