Looks like they're updating the cladding around the parking garage on Worthington. It looks much better now.

In case you need a reminder of what it looked like before he's a Street View image:

The Google Street View version looks like it's MISSING the cladding completely. Only the support posts are there.

Yes they removed what cladding was installed after they found wind was causing it to whistle.

Yeah sorry, replacing the cladding isn't what I meant to say. It was without cladding for so long and it looked terrible, I was glad to see them putting it back.

Rio Grande Plan back in the news:

Quote:
“We knew that, from the investment side, this project is going to cost $3 [billion] to $5 billion,” Jahangiry said. “But the big question was: What is the ripple effect of this investment to the economy? What is the return on investment?”

The study predicts the proposal could add over $7.8 billion to Utah’s gross domestic product, an aggregate measure of economic activity.

Researchers also say it could create more than 51,800 new jobs in Salt Lake County, result in about 2,700 new housing units and spur an additional $3.2 billion annually in commercial output after land around the depot is redeveloped.

Walked by the Delta Center, it appears they have knocked down the wall on the sidewalk of the Southwest corner near the truck entrance. Parking structure getting built this early?

Alta Terra Sugarhouse update. Seems like they are making good progress on the North building after it had stalled out for awhile.

It appears they have several building permits that have been approved or are nearing approval for summer work, including for the parking garage and the phase 2 remodel for summer 2025 construction (phase 1 being the NHL locker rooms). I think you're definitely seeing prep for these construction activities.

Well according to this timeline, it looks like they're working on the northend lower bowl:

Not sure why the renderings haven't been released - at least officially.

I still think this is the actual renderings:

But I don't think they were supposed to be shared with me lmao

They have most of the scaffolding off the North Capitol Building and most of the granite exterior paneling installed. My only comment is that it's now much whiter than the Capitol, Senate and House buildings. They either need to throw some dirt at the new building, or power wash all of the existing buildings.

Have any of you checked out Boise's thread lately? They are booming! It seems like they have a lot more under construction in their downtown area, including towers, than we have.

Official rendering out now, no "Wall" like in those previous images. Unfortunately. Would have loved to see the DC with some unique element that no other NHL arena has.

Astra Tower

It looks like the mural on the west side of Astra Tower has been completed. It is beautiful!!!

Also has anyone on this thread heard of a start date for any new residential towers downtown, or are the developers waiting for these idiotic , dumbass tafiffs to be lowered?

Yes. That's a very lovely mural.

From what it sounds like, these renderings are just for next year's DC - not what the end-game will look like? So, just the lower bowl?
