Anyone care to offer their theory at what John Williamson is playing at here? Is it just him trying to shore up the Lorneville vote in the next election? Or is it just because the CPC is not in government, so he's more willing to oppose big projects? He was pretty vocal in his opposition to the Lorneville industrial expansion during the election, but perhaps that is because he saw the writing on the wall (the his party would not be forming the next government) and that this was an easy way to secure votes in Lorneville. Still, I just can't see him posting such fervent opposition to this project had the CPC won and formed government.
To me, it seems like shameless pandering, but it's also perplexing, because as a Conservative, it's just strange that he's so opposed industrial development within the largest city of his riding... it's not like this project being proposed for the middle of Saint Andrews By the Sea or something, so yeah, I guess I'm just surprised he's still so opposed to this project
after the election.
Yet, here is our opposition, Conservative MP, sloganeering about a major industrial project like it's still the middle of a campaign. I don't think his support for this cause will last much longer.
