Hours after a game lets out, say at midnight, there's always a big queue of cabs waiting who presumably anticipate getting some business.

Wow, after 36 years.... between that and a few closures of eateries in T N S, that does not sound great. Also, The Shark Club was planning to open at Sandman Signature Hotel by the airport. Not sure if they still intend to.

What closed in True North Square? Haven't been there in awhile.

Would that be a 2nd Shark Club location in Winnipeg, as I believe the City Place location was licensed to the True North group as a downtown gaming center (not a casino) to financially support the Winnipeg Jets.

True North has an allocation of around 140 +/- slot machines in City Place

Shark Club is tied to True North, it aint moving. new Sandman has "Tavern on King Edward" not to be confused with the 3-4 Tavern United locations, lol

Nice to see this progress!

I wonder if there's any plans to salvage any of the building, or whether it's cheaper and easier to just start tearing things down? I was thinking all those guardrails might be re-purposed by somebody, but that's probably just the cheapskate in me talking.

The demo contractor will send them for material recycling or maybe sell them if somebody wants. Who wants to install used railing in their new/reno'd building though? haha

Maybe they can use them at Big Sky Studios when they need to build larger set pieces

Why not refurbish and re-use the railings if someone wants to.

Better to re-use them, and let some parts of the mall have more of a life, like we did with some of the details in older buildings we tore down.

Depending on where in the world they come from new, with all tariffs it currently may be cost effective to use recycled railings in a building.

A number of years ago a major Manitoba company bought a few semi trailers of Herman Miller cubicles from a failed dot com in the US as it was in decent shape and a lot less including shipping / taxes than new.
