A third date has been added for each of the four Broadway shows coming to Moncton.

I also noticed that Moncton is one of only a couple of Canadian stops for each show.

This augers well for a similar event to return to Moncton next year!

I'm hoping for Wicked next year. I saw it in Toronto, and the movie this year is pretty good too.

I believe the outsiders is expected to tour starting in 2025 after a successful Broadway run. I saw the show in New York and this would be a really good addition with Wicked. Everyone in NB reads the outsiders book in high school dating back many years, great show for both teens and adults.

In addition Beetlejuice is touring and the lead is being played by a local (Justin Collette) who attended Riverview high school. Throw in Dear Evan Hansen, Mamma Mia or back to the future and you got yourself a 2026 season.

It would be nice to get some of those tours however all you named except Dear Evan Hansen are Equity tours. They cost more to bring in with the actors/crew all being unionized.
So far any tour that has come to the Maritimes have been non-Equity productions.

That said, how amazing it would be for Justin Collette being able to perform for a hometown crowd! I saw him in Broadway in School of Rock and friends have seen him in Beetlejuice and he's wonderful.

Thats interesting

I found this list here that seperates of non equity vs equity.

https://playbill.com/article/updates-on-current-and-upcoming-national-tours

I suppose it will depend on the success of the 2025 season. If some of these shows sell out then perhaps the market could handle a 10-15% price increase (im guessing here), but there is definitely a line that would become too much new maritime fans price wise.

And Loshing is gone. I feel a little bad for him since he will not get a chance to experience playoff success this year with the Cats. Dylan Gill is an excellent acquisition, and a good Riverview boy to boot.

I dont think they needed to upgrade in nets, and Steinman was an absolute fan favourite and im gutted for him. He deserved better personally, he bailed out this team time and time again as an 18 and 19 year old under the mess of the Dan Lacroix system and thats a big part of why hes a fan favourite.

Removing the emotions from it, the Wildcats leave this trade deadline with arguably the best goaltender & best defenseman (Gill) in the league heading into the 2nd half. They also have the best coach in the league. They filled in some depth with Cote and Crosby.

All eyes on Rousseau on January 25th vs Rimouski. A big performance in that game will help him win over the fans in a big way.

In the meantime you can just watch this clip on repeat...I mean he even shocked king Henrik

Steinman deserved better. He was indeed a fan favourite and he will very definitely be missed. He should have been able to go on this playoff run with the team. He has been rock steady for the last three years. Jesus.

Still, I guess junior hockey is a business, and the junior hockey cycle is a very real thing. If Irving wants to win, I guess he has to go all in............

Avenir Centre in it's playoff livery last evening. The new banners are quite impressive.

Cats are up 2-0 against the Remparts, but Quebec is putting up a spirited effort against our team.

The Remparts dominated the first two periods last night and we only survived the onslaught thanks to the efforts of netminder Rudy Guimond. He definitely deserved his first star honours. We ended up winning 4-0. That's 16 wins in a row for the Wildcats!

Entire concourse chanting go cats go, rinking bells and horns leaving the building. I've been waiting 10 years for this run. Finally people will get to see how great the Avenir can be with a proper playoff crowd, and it's only round 1.

Took a look at tix for "Come from Away". Not sure yet if I'll go or not, but I see they have 5 shows available. 3 evening shows and 2 afternoon shows. While tix are available they do seem to be selling well. Thursday afternoon was t he only one with any 'cheap' tix available still.

There are four different productions for "Broadway in Moncton" this year. At least three of them have added extra performances due to demand. I have a sneaking suspicion they will be back next year,,,,,,,,,

Because of the WildCats hosting a playoff game on Friday, the performance of Chicago scheduled for that night is cancelled. Still no details to ticket holders as to what is going to happen for us with a tickets for that night, the 25th.

Any other shows at risk of a Playoff bump? If that's an issue that may discourage the Broadway Show touring group in the future. (Or at least encourage them to schedule sometime other than SPring Playoffs season).

I'm still hoping to go to the "Come from Away" show on Thursday the 8th, but I haven't bought tix yet; waiting for my budget to get some wiggle room with the pay before it.
