Sorry...I'm an idiot. I don't understand what you are saying. It would seem that if you take into account the "lowest" elevation point and measure to the top, your number would be greater.

Waldorf-Astoria in Miami will have that title.

Yes, but Austin will have the title for a few months at least.

BOA in Atlanta is 1,024'. The two in LA are taller, but they are not in the South.

Actually, that is incorrect. Only the Wilshire Grand (in LA) would be taller at 1,102' (with the spire). US Bank Tower is 1,018' tall. However, another California tower rises taller than Waterline - Salesforce Tower in San Francisco. It stands at 1,070'.

Tallest manned structures west of the Mississippi:
The STRAT (Las Vegas) – 1,149’
Wilshire Grand (Los Angeles) – 1,102’
Salesforce (San Francisco) – 1,070’
*Waterline (Austin) – 1,031’
US Bank (Los Angeles) – 1,018’
JPMorgan Chase (Houston) – 1,002’

I would also take Google Earth measurements with a grain of salt. It's almost like quoting "facts" from Wikipedia. Atlanta's BOA tower is truly 1023'.
Their numbers are pretty spot on. The ones for 6X are anyway.

Does anyone have the actual elevation document with the 1,031 foot figure? I need to update the database if it really is going to be 1,031 feet.

There was talk as to where the exact point at elevation to start from but I noted 1,031’ —- minus 3’ from the FAA’s determination. Initial submission was 1,025’.

It's amazing how some of the skyscrapers like The Modern, which are large in their own right (almost 200M), appear to be no more than mid-rise buildings when placed up next to this monster.
