I think you eyes deceive you. Main floor retail. 7 floors residential of residential. 6 plus the upper penthouse level

Main floor is retail, second level is office.

Just saw they removed the tarps off of the building under construction on Provencher and revealed some gorgeous red brick. It looks fantastic!

Apparently it is an EIFS Stucco Brick. I have never hear of such a thing. A stucco system that looks like real brick.

There's more than a few postwar buildings in the city that have "Insulbrick" asphalt faux brick siding. Interesting how some ideas keep comin back around.

No!!!! We love that shop!

Too much overhead and/or competing with their retail in grocery chains, I guess?

Winnipeg takes too damn long to support these businesses with increased residents and walkability. They replaced the sidewalks last year but still have been dragging their feet hard on the bike lanes.

Interestingly the news release says that having a downtown location was hard to justify due to shifting customer habits.

I don't know if I would call their store on Provencher a downtown location.

New Bothwell is what's called "destination retail", really too bad it couldnt stay with 2 large developments oppening in coming 1-2 years. cheese shop, bakery, butcher should all line along Provencher. so sad

Gay Lea probably isn't fond with a) competition and b) Winnipeggers being able to buy the seconds cheap. Everything is full price now.
