Construction fencing has now gone up around the garage and a Priestly Demolition sign. Should see heavy equipment soon.

Heavy equipment has now got about a third of the upper level of the parking structure removed. Shouldn't take long to finish the above ground concrete demolition.

2nd level garage deck is now down leaving only a couple of strips of posts. Those should be down by end of week as they truck away the rubble and start ripping up the ground level deck and foundation slab.

Priestly Demolition has now dug up the foundation footings and ground slab along the north and west ends of the garage. Leaving the south and east side left to complete. Should be finished within the next 2 weeks. Will we see HCM Foundations contractor onsite soon afterwards to start drilling caisson pilings? Or will it sit quiet for months?

The last chunks of concrete from the parking structure are being trucked away today. Preistly Demolition will likely be removing their heavy equipment by end of week. How long will it be before we see the foundation contractor start on this site?

Current status on this application says "Hold-Fees" which I assume means it is approved pending payment of fees?

Promising sign with an excavator, bulldozer and roller onsite and a couple of loads of dirt. Foundation contractor may be prepping to grade and level the site ahead of bringing in the caisson drilling rig to start installing the pilings around the perimeter of the future pit excavation.

Drove by this afternoon I had look it appears that they are leveling out surface of the lot. Looks suspiciously like surface parking lot is on the way. Hoping I'm wrong.

Good news with a HCM shipping container and mobile forklift now on site. Surveyors have started staking out the perimeter of the foundation excavation pit. Should see a caisson drilling rig on site soon to start drilling the pilings for the pit walls for the two levels of underground parking planned for this future 35s tower.

Should have the foundation excavated and footings poured by end of 2025. Will be interested to see who the general contractor for this build is.

From the Free Press article last year:

"Campbell said the owner is hoping to have building permits in hand by next spring or summer. “Our client is quite ambitious and has a very aggressive timeline for trying to seek development approvals on this one,” he said.

So that fits with what they said all along. At 112 metres this will be the 3rd tallest in the city after Centro 1 and OLP?

HCM is moving quickly with trucking in the Caisson drilling rig and setting it up today plus a load of caisson steel tubes. Should see a load of steel I-beam pilings delivered to the site soon. Could be drilling by end of this week.

This building will have 435 units which is quite substantial and help boost the downtown population and hence a bigger chance of finally getting a grocery store back downtown.
