Le Devoir deems his French to be "assez clair".

No, he's not. The forum will have to rely on New Brisavoine as the lone voice of Quebec in the meantime

A bunch of forumers ganged up on him because he dared refer to a Radio-Canada news report about an increase in the number of migrants attempting to cross into Canada from the US. He did not provide a link in his initial post so there was a lot of outrage for such an unfounded, bold and even apparently racist claim.

And the news was apparently not valid because the English media did not report on it at the time (funny thing, they did a couple of hours later). But yeah, as a result of all of this, he was suspended after using colourful language in his responses.

What's "racist" about commenting on an increase in immigrant arrivals? It doesn't refer to a specific race.

There shouldn't be a requirement for "sources" or "links" with statements of the type "water is wet".

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/trump-a...is-temporary-protected-status-rcna193076

^ is basically guaranteed to send a bunch of NYC Haitians to Roxham Road. No need for a source -- anyway, it hasn't happened yet, it's just 100% predictable, but it's not "news" yet.

There is no rule stating you cannot post in French. You may do so if you wish. This is your right (unlike in Quebec where you no longer have any rights to provincial government services in English).

If you want to post in French then have at it! It all depends on whether or not you want any engagement from anglo-Canadians. Given your views, I doubt very much that you care what we think in any event.

Isn't this the case (unless you are a de souche anglo-Quebecker?)

I am under the impression that immigrants to the province (even from other provinces) have no such rights any more (at least for face-to face service).

Right, and I think it's high time for MonctonRad to get suspended for trying to propagate falsehoods without sources

I actually still receive all my government stuff in English, because at some point in the past, I was pissed at the clowns in charge in Quebec City and figured I'd do that just to be a dick.

(I'm not an Anglo.)

With friends like these...

(for those who don't know, he's the (brutal) leader of the French far-left, who almost made it to the 2nd round of the presidential election in 2022, with a habit of conducting his own parallel diplomacy, usually in Global South and 'Bolivarian' countries, so that tells you how he considers you, somewhere between Ecuador and Morocco)

He received a standing ovation during his 'state' visits to Morocco, Senegal, and DR Congo. The governments there made a point to receive him even better than Macron, just to piss France.

Here the standing ovation he received in Senegal (where the local youth is totally intoxicated by nationalist and anti-Western propaganda spread by Russia; oh, I forgot to say he was a Russia supporter too, anti-Israeli, pro-Hamas, anti-Ukraine). Hopefully he won't receive a standing ovation in Montréal! (but I have some doubts with some of your university students)

Echo chamber with you two left. Other people that actually live in Quebec will move on.
