Portland Maps shows that the handsome, diminutive building belongs to NE 20th Artist Studios LLC.

Have a look at this past Willamette Week story that sheds more light on the.owner:

Drove this way south on NE 21st yesterday. Very imposing and cool presence for a building, looking down on 21st as it does.

Per one of the exhibits...

The Bureau of Development Services was working with the owner to redevelop the property. In 2021
the owner wanted to turn this large lot into an apartment complex with businesses including childcare
services for tenants who would reside there. The owner did not move forward with the redevelopment
of the lot and has not been engaged with our office or BDS.

Between June 23, 2023, and May 9, 2024, there were 2 calls for service at this address. Outside of the
listed address there were 31 calls made within 200 feet of this property. The majority of these calls
were for disorder.

The Liens Team has mailed out 3 letters to the owner from August 25, 2023, to May 28,
2024. I have been unable to reach the owner by phone.
WWeek had an article on this back in 2022. Looks like Mr. Brewster gave up and isn't returning phone calls.. About time this eyesore gets dealt with.

I can’t say I have ever seen such a permit. 4 separate but adjacent buildings with active permit reviews deciding mid-process to join forces into one large building? At least that’s how EA description reads. Interesting.

They've been proposing different projects on this site for many years (since 2017). Seems they can't decide what to do. First it's one building, then it's several 19-unit buildings, then it's duplexes, now this...

Any idea what’s going on with the old Kia at Broadway/MLK? Saw some workers inside, and checking the permits seems like there was a mechanical permit pulled. Interesting since it’s been vacant for years now. Don’t recall seeing anything under development here.

Update on the Glisan Landing project. It will have 137 units of affordable housing, including 41 units of permanent supportive housing.

Graffiti-covered Gordon’s Fireplace building, Portland eyesore visible from I-84, headed back to auction

A graffiti-covered Northeast Portland building near Interstate 84 is headed back to auction next month, with a starting bid of $225,000.

The former Gordon’s Fireplace Shop, also known as the Aircraft Factory (aircraft were once built there), survived a late September city foreclosure auction after court-appointed receiver Bluestone Real Estate Services stepped in to pay nearly $103,000 in liens on the property.

Now it’s on offer once again.

A judge appointed the receiver as part of a lawsuit by PNC Bank division Midland Loan Services. The property’s owners had allegedly defaulted on about $5 million in debt backed by the property, according to court records filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court in August.

Gordon’s Fireplace Shop closed in 2016. Buyers had acquired the property the following year for $2.7 million under the names 3300 NE Broadway LLC and Grant Park Parking LLC.
...continues at the Oregonian.

Facade is mostly done on this. I wasn't sure about the patina based on the renderings, but I think its going to look really sharp when it's complete. Even better than the renderings imho.

Really cool building overall, given it's prominence/location and design.

I didn't get a photo, if someone could grab it would be great to share.

Took a stroll through the Glisan Landing project. Progress seems slow, but it looks nice.
