I should've known that LPC supporters would turn a blind-eye to Mr. Net-Zero's investments in American pipelines.

When Carney removed the consumer carbon tax, LPC supporters thought it was an incresible move and rejoiced in happiness at the lower gas prices. However when the CPC proposed this it was sinister and evil.

Similarly, the CPC proposing to end C69 and the EV mandate is evil, but if Carney said he'd do it he'd have this forum's full support.

You know it's true.

I know the recent poll to which you are referring. It showed that Albertans had the highest percentage of Canadians willing to join the US at 15% which is still not very high.

That poll, however, does NOT reflect the growing independence movement in Alberta. The question asked was whether they would want to join the US as the 51st state NOT if they wanted to separate from Canada. Those are two VERY different things. Many Albertans want to separate but be an independent state as opposed to just swapping one political master {Ottawa} for another {Washington}.

If the question was "do you support Alberta leaving confederation whether that be as an independent country or as joining the US?", I think you would find that support at least doubling. The days of Alberta separation being a comical and niche conversation are over and anyone who know longer takes that threat seriously does so at their peril.

Truth, lies, and statistics.

I guess. I have seen many of these polls and never a number over 40%. I'd say the burden of proof is on those arguing that the majority in Alberta are serious about some new political arrangement; I'm willing to adjust my view if there is new data.

I think if the answer is highly dependent on tweaking the poll wording that's a sign of soft support for a movement.

I don't know how an independent Alberta would have an easier time getting pipelines built in what would become foreign territory. This seems like magical thinking.

Yes and no. Most Albertans see separation leading to immediately becoming the 51st state. I agree with your assessment of Stormy Danielle Smith though. She is salivating at the thought of a Liberal victory. The thing is though, if she wants a referendum it will lose full stop. Every vote counts which means the 1/5 of the population that is rural UCP base loses all of their BS voting block power. Unless there was monumental voter fraud discounting Calgary and Edmonton it would fail miserably. Nenshi even called out her threat and said ‘Call a separation referendum and resign if it fails.’ The largest group of new Albertans moved here from Ontario and BC. They won’t want to separate either. As usual Smith is full of shit.

You know it's true.
Like O-tac a perfect example claiming that that cons that want C69 repealed have no care for the climate change. Mr Carney insists on a bill that prohibits nation building infrastructure projects, yet with his time with Brookfield as chair of the board has no issue with the Company purchasing a major pipeline infrastructure projects in the USA.

We will do everything in our power to combat the USA tariffs against Canada that will damage the Canadian economy, except repeal development cruthing bills like C69 and C48, those we’ll keep in place so that we can’t develop infrastructure to reach the global market, and instead! We will let Compnies like Brookfield whom Carney was a major player and has significant investment in to purchase major infrastructure companies in the USA to further develop their industry… makes zero sense.

Makes zero sense, you either stand by your word and proceed with doing everything in your power to break away from the USA, or you talk out of both sides of your mouth and look like a corrupt fool that pretends you are all in for Canada.

Nothing to see here, absolutely no conflict of interest, whatsoever.

This guy can’t be trusted.

Carney needs to lie to convince people to vote for him.

Poilievre just needs to tell the truth.

Poilievre is filling hangars and warehouses with thousands of people.

Carney can barely fill a local pub.

But yes, trust the polls.

People who answer polls do so because they have nothing better to do.

Busy people with jobs, kids and responsibilities don't have time to answer polls.

Busy productive people overwhelmingly support the Conservatives. This doesn't show up in the polls.

So the guy who bullied CTV into dropping fact checking for conservative candidates to appear in interviews, and also barred the media from his campaign travels is the truth teller?

There’s the snobby, dismissive class differentiation Build.it loves to use. He’s a maker and a job creator and an entrepreneur. We’re all mere drones in comparison.

This election will be decided by hard-working Millennials and Gen Z who previously voted Liberal but have switched to the Conservatives.

Semi-employed urbanists who think garden suites and bicycles are the solution are thankfully the minority.

Technically it takes significantly less time to answer a poll (probably one second!) than recreate an account on a forum one was previously banned from and spend the last 2 hours ranting in a deranged manner so...
