Currently -1C and sunny in Moncton at 2 PM.

Game 2 of the playoffs is tonight.

Freezing rain warning today. Been mostly rain so far, thanks to Lake Ontario moderating the temperature above zero. We'll see how the rest of the day plays out.

North of Cobourg though, definitely a full on ice storm.

19.3 and rainy this afternoon. Leaf out has begun in my yard, almost 30 days later than last spring.

1C and sunny this afternoon. This was surprise.

Low of -5C (wind chill of -13) this morning and snowing. We had a about 3-5 cm on the ground max but a lot of it melted this afternoon.

The warmspot was Ridgetown, ON at 19.4C.

Warmest low was Windsor, ON at 13.4C

VERY sharp divide with the system. Even the difference between Sarnia (5C) and Windsor (19C) was massive
Only Windsor, Harrow, Ridgetown and Point Pelee were above 15C. London was the only other station in the double digits (and briefly).

The icestorm is pretty bad in central/ East Ontario, particularly around the Kawarthas, Peterborough and Barrie based on what I'm hearing from Twitter - I should contact my family out in Peteborough.
The ice accumulation is about 0.4 mm in my area and downtown Toronto, and we're hovering around 0-1C.

Cloudy, sunny, wet, dry, calm, blustery. A mixed bag of a day. Not too bad overall.

Saturday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 11 C, the low was 8 C.

-5C and sunny in Moncton at 9 AM, going up to +3C this afternoon. Perfect maple sugaring weather!

Shite moving in overnight. First snow, transitioning to ice pellets, then freezing rain and then rain. A freezing rain warning has been issued, but there is some uncertainty as to how long it will last. Up to +11C tomorrow afternoon.

Spring is inevitable. I've been hearing cardinals in my back yard for the last few days. They must know something.

Avenir Centre in it's playoff livery last evening. The new banners framing the main entrance are quite impressive.

Wildcats are now up 2-0 against the hated Quebec Remparts in round one of the QMJHL final.

Architype, I love your photos and updates,, but you really got to start using a different forecaster.

When you posted this forecast (which again was colder than Environment Canada, The Weather Network, and my IPhone App) I decided to compare it to the actual temps experienced during this period.

So, for each day, here are the high temps as follows:

Your forecast / YVR / Pitt Meadows / White Rock / West Van

(21) 7 / 9 / 9 / 9

(22) 7 / 10 / 10 / 11

(23) 6 / 11 / 6 / 11

(24) 9 / 12 / 11 / 13

(25) 16 / 16 / 16 / 19

(26) 13 / 16 / 15 / 17

(27) 7 / 15 / 15 / 17

(28) 6 / 11 / 11 / 12

I know its classic goofy nitpicky weather thread stuff, but I know Nikko wouldn't stand for a forecast that continually lowballed Montreal's weather

I'm of the firm belief that for some reason, your forecast is geared for the summit of Burnaby Mountain (or even a little higher in elevation).

Ice storm is now over for us. Chance we hit double digits by this evening. We definitely had freezing rain overnight, but were spared the catastrophic storm that happened north of here. The Kawarthas have been absolutely hammered, essentially 2 days straight of freezing rain.

Cobourg...

Yes, I've noticed sometimes, but not always. I post that because it gives the outlook and conditions. From now on I'll post my own outdoor thermometer reading too when I am home and it's different or some alternative. At this moment it says 15°C here, while Google weather says it's 11°C with a high of 14°C today.

^ It's pretty funny that they think cyclists read signs.

0C. Some freezing this morning then turned into rain. Right it's 1C and temperature is climbing. We made it out OK compared to Ontario.

Low of -2C (wind chill of -9) this morning.

The warmspot was Hope, BC and Cultus Lake, BC at 18.9C.

Warmest low was Windsor, ON at 7.0C

Yes! More home readings, please!

And I second the love for the puddle picture.

Here in Japan after weeks of cold wet weather we had about 4 days of near summer weather (topping out at 26!) but things have cooled dramatically again, and yesterday was a cool blustery 10 degrees and there was some frost again this morning.

My in-laws picked the worst winter to move up north. There’s still plenty of white stuff in Penetang. I gave them my mobile generator that I’ve never used back at Christmas. They didn’t want a generator installed during winter and were hoping they’d be good until spring. Well, they finally used it and it lasted ten hours. BIL then went to get gas today and after an hour wait the station ran out. Went to another and got some more after an hour. Could be days before power is back. And that mobile one I have will only do a space heater so they have to stay in one room basically. Could also drive a couple hours here if they want but next thing you know the power will come back as soon as they arrive here.

They also didn’t have a snow blower but BIL’s best friend is 20 minutes away and came with his whenever it was a proper snowfall, which was often. My other BIL’s coworker was getting rid of his heavy duty old one in Hamilton so he scooped it up for free and gave it to my in-laws.

The third BIL is in the Kawarthas and this is what his place looks like.

From last Monday. Like I mentioned before how the two Christmas light display houses near me still hadn't removed their, Coronation Park also hasn't touched their displays. That two months of snow cover really set schedules back.

From Thursday. Was out in rural Milton checking out Drumquin Park restoration project. This drainage ditch and culvert is perhaps doing its just too well. That recycle bin should have read the message.

From today. Mount Walmart is making some good progress (regression?).

The sunrise flashed basically neon for a few minutes and faded so quick. Absolutely zero hint of any colours except grey and blue within moments of this shot.

0C and light freezing rain in Moncton at 9 AM. The trees are bent over a little, and the schools are all closed, but nothing at all like central Ontario.

The freezing rain should be done in a couple of hours then normal rain and temperatures up to +11C this afternoon.

Freezing rain is the worst. It just makes me nervous. It's right up there with a hurricane.

Give me an actual blizzard anytime
