Under the current political situation in North America, one wonders if Blanchet is batshit insane. Support for Quebec sovereignty is at its lowest levels in my lifetime, due to the obvious- the annexation threats. Most Quebecois are well aware that if Trump did annex Canada, French Canadians would suffer the most, since Trump would want to erase the French culture and language.
The irony in that statement, is it will backfire and help the Liberals, considering many will view him as out of touch. And yes, Alberta IS the problem. At least their Government is, by siding with the Trump Administration, over the interests of Albertans (80% want to remain in Canada).
