The Parks Tower 1 looks great, you can just tell it's a quality build from the photos.

Any word on Westrich's 106 St. tower proposal on the other side of the Warehouse Park?

I believe this is interior demolition only to convert the building to multi-unit residential.

Yeah, that's what I suspected and that the wording is incorrect, but man o man it's got a lot of folks concerned.

It happens, but certainly an important detail.

If that wording is what gets circulated in the notices to adjacent property owners that's no bueno.

In other news I see they are excavating that parkade on Westrich's site on 108 Street. Great to see activity on that site.

^I don't follow why Westrich is doing low/mid-rises downtown but proposing a 25 storey tower in windsor park.

Despite what most people seem to think, Lotus and Lilac will fit nicely into the area. Nothing wrong with a mix of density in a downtown!

Maybe a mix of soil conditions, market and site servicing differences between Downtown and Windsor Park?

Saw blatchford recently... really leaves a lot to be desired. Looked like the middle part of terwillegar town with the endless rows of 4plexes. Where is the mixed use or apartment buildings?

Something like "University district" in Calgary was what I had hoped for. They built retail there at the same time as the housing; and somehow feels like they built it all way faster than blatchford. Also the housing their looks higher quality and nicer (brick cladding etc..)

Still leaves me in awe that what started as a spectacular international competition has delivered what looks like a boring dense suburb 15 years later.
Hopefully blatchford can draw on some inspiration.

Probably the biggest problem for Blatchford is the reliance on smaller developers, instead of parcelling it out for bigger developers. Smaller developers exist but they are doing much smaller projects with middling at best options for financing.
