Whitney Block, provincial government offices next to Queens Park. The tower portion of the building has been long abandoned as it only has a single exit stair and does not meet fire safety standards, from my understanding.

Video Link

Here's a little video that gives you the history of this building. I wish they could open it for Doors Open one year.

Partially occupied. Ford sucks the life force out of his victims in the tower.

I personally wouldn't cry too many tears over FCP as it was never one of my favourites, but I'd consider CCW to be a pretty big loss.
True, but I would miss FCP. I am aware it isn't all that beloved, but the spare modernism in fact makes it one of my favourites.

I would gladly give up the FCP block for the pre FCP block.

The rest of the raised blocks are tragic as well. However, North America cities are defined by their skyscraper CBDs and those buildings are between 3 to 6 storeys. IMHO, shoebox residential skyscrapers are not to be included as a shitty workstation near the core of FCP is still a place of work than a home.

I agree that anything from the Art Deco era is to be cherished and kept, if at all practicable.

The scale of this thing is crazy. My place in Toronto is across the street on the 30th floor. It must've surpassed my unit almost a year ago and I already have to lean off my balcony to see the top.

For almost 6 months the crane was exactly level with my unit and would swing within ~10 feet of my bedroom window.
