This election outcome could be based on the NDP more than anything. How much they collapse, how effective they campaign and who they target.

When I think of Pierre, I picture him giving timbits and coffee to the invading American forces - just as he did with the convoy group who were open about meeting with the GG to replace the government.

I suspect this to be the real deciding factor. I think the CPC will end up in the high 30% of vote share on election day, but that might not be good enough if this does turn into essentially a 2-party election.

Really the NDP would have every reason to target the Liberals and Carney is arguably an easy target for them given his background. But I don't think Jagmeet is an effective campaigner nor do I suspect they have the money to spend on ads etc.

Stop getting your panties in a bunch and read at least the basics.

It's talking about allowing them to access the same financing programs for building rental units. You know, attracting foreign investment in Canada.

I understand you don't like renters though.

You post a handful of times every few years, and almost all of them are highly aggressive/belligerent.

Look at any commercial on TV now a days, only one being made fun of are white males.
Not exactly a good posting history. You don't provide a lot of quality content to the discussion.

You, sir, did not answer the question! Furthermore, I stand by all my statements. It seems to me that left-leaning Canada has gone batshit crazy with censoring, and judging by how easy it is to get banned on here, a few more Lib**** election victories and full-blown communism will break out.

Anyway...

Will Carney call an election as soon as he is officially PM? Before the House even has a chance to sit?

He probably will.

But I'm curious if an alternative here is to appoint an interim Finance Minister and table a budget with all the goodies. Either the NDP votes for it and you but stability, which let's you campaign on it. Or they vote against it and the Liberals run on that.

It's still a long shot they win. I think debates will get people back to the issues. And the LPC is weak there. But Carney will have saved the LPC from catastrophe.

I'm not sure why all these folks think that:

1) Free speech rights apply to messaging boards.

2) The right to free speech grants immunity from social consequences.

I hope my wish becomes true someday and the citizenship exam becomes a requirement for graduation from high school. Cause there are a lot of people who are apparently too ignorant to participate in normal civic discourse.

Yeah I was thinking about the budget, or at least a throne speech.

Unfortunately I think the election campaign will be influenced heavily by whatever flailing around Dump is doing.

Carney winning is slim I agree, but the chances of a PP minority are pretty high right now.

There doesn't appear to be benefit for waiting. A big part of the LPC comeback has been their ability to poach a lot of NDP support. That also helps their voter efficiency which means they're still competitive or possibly winning even if the CPC doesn't lose much of the support it's built over the past 2 years. You don't want to keep the NDP around and happy propping up your government just to watch those voters flock back to Singh.

As well, like I've also said many times now, the Liberals really have to consider where they were in the polls all but 2 months ago. That's not all on Trudeau; there was a lot of Liberal fatigue and desire for change. That's not likely to change the longer they're in office. Try and capitalize on the (likely) temporary bump in support to see if you can squeak out another 2-4 years. Wait too long and it'll be erased and you'll all but certain lose.

He seems to need directions on how to get to Rideau Hall. I suspect by end of this weekend we will be in an election. He has no advantage to waiting or being defeated in the HofC.

The NDP seems to be the well funded at the moment. Actually even better than the prior election campaign with Singh at the helm. If they were smart they would target incumbent ridings white their resources in order to save the furniture. The Ontario NDP did a great job in that so there’s lots to learn.

Never to this degree though. He would say instead of losing by 25 points, they are losing by 15.

Source? I thought they were chronically broke.
