Two updates for downtown Tempe developments today:
The 7th Street Residential development (House of Tricks/1st Congregational Church area etc) has begun applying for demo permits for some parts of the property, specifically at the SE corner of the property. It seems unusual that they are filing demo permits before getting entitlements but it looks like the city approved them. It looks like they do plan to relocate the historical structure on this portion of the site, although it doesn't say where it will go.

There is also a new PSPR for a 12 story hotel to be built within the NOVUS corridor. This is not surprising, but what IS somewhat surprising is the listed location. I was expecting to soon see something about a hotel getting built on the Parcel 3A plat next to all the restaurants that just opened, but this hotel isn't being planned for that spot. The address listed is 770 S. Novus Place which would put the hotel on the hard NW corner of University and Rural (Parcel 3Cs I believe) but this doesn't match the parcel number (13225049B) which would put this on Parcel 3Dn of the Novus development, next to the parking garage. Usually when there is a parcel/address discrepancy tha parcel is the accurate listing, but either way this would be big news as it would be a change in plans from office tower to hotel. This is also pretty tall for this area of Novus.

This would be the second planned office tower that has changed plans to non-office use in recent weeks, with the 250 Riondevelopment filing a PSPR for a multifamily development at few weeks ago.
