Pretty much the same area as that pumper structure. Just north of the crosswalk on Memorial. You can see the crane base as you drive by.

Here is the full city report on how the Bay site was developed.

"The Crevice" story is on page 17 or 19 depending on what viewer you use

So the Bay is to blame for that crooked layout of Memorial Street!!! I'm going to launch a public campaign to put them out of business, those buggers!! Oh wait, haha..

I am sure all the existing ones were found downtown years ago and quietly filled in, and out in the burbs excavations probably don't go deep enough to find one.

Maybe once in a while somebody in a greenfield site may wonder why did that pile just drop down 4 feet with the last pile driver hammer drop instead of a few inches? Better be a crevice and not an unmarked storm trunk sewer we just popped thru

If I loosely recall from hearsay and the early renderings, like a Barcelona block with an inner central atrium instead of a courtyard accessed from outside

Those looks fantastic! Can’t wait to see this come together.

One question: what is the inverse disco ball room in the second last rendering supposed to be?

i really hope it turns out like this and stays looking like this. many other projects (indigenous and non-indigenous) start looking like this but only get destroyed over time due to neglect. this is truly outstanding looking building, the gardens are unreal, and the woodwork is just breath taking

Based on my observation anything that is for profit, in general, lasts longer than those funded by the government.
