So is Hart relocating from Parkway Mall at 212 McAllister Drive?

Marino Locations Limited has updated their website and has also updated the site plan for East Point Shopping Centre.

It shows the new building under construction next to PetSmart is actually 3 different units. Two are leased to unannounced tenants and there is a small 1,740sf spot available in between them.

Also, the site plan shows the potential of 2 new large units next to Indigo and possibly 3 more units next to the Princess Auto.

Yeah, I was just at Princess Auto and Moores the other day and realized the addition beside PetSmart is clearly more than one unit: construction has progressed a lot. The farther half of the extension seems to be two floors (I believe the second floor is construction company offices, if not the whole building) while the half beside PetSmart looks like a standard retail CRU. No idea what's with the little CRU in the middle.

AFAIK the new CRUs beside Princess Auto and Indigo are pretty aspirational. They've been planned/desired in various forms since East Point started.

The middle parking lot marked Future Development was/is supposed to host residential (over retail?) which is odd to not see featured here. And speaking of parking lots, the courtyard lot surrounded by the smaller CRUs is totally shredded and needs to be completely repaved.

Nice to see new options opening but it makes me wonder just how big the breakfast market is? These two new outlets are in addition to Cora's, Pur and Simple, Sunset Grill and a wide variety of local pubs and diners that do a big breakfast business. Heck, even A&W does a sit down breakfast business with offerings like their traditional "Great Canadian" served on china plates with real silverware.

This is all in addition to all the other national fast food chains offering wraps and
breakfast sandwiches.

Still, Stacked is a national chain and I'm sure they have done their market research and determined there is a market for them.

No Frills is now hiring for their new location opening soon at 212 McAllister Drive, (Parkway Mall, next to Hart). Job advertisements are now online. Must be opening fairly soon then if they are now hiring.

I don't know what their website said in the past but it currently lists Saint John and Quispamsis as opportunities.

According to the updated leasing plan for Fairville Boulevard Plaza, (on the west side), the unit between Fairstone Financial and Pet Valu is now leased.

Overall, the only available spot left now in this plaza is the large 10,000sf spot next to Bulk Barn.

*UPDATE: Sources confirm that Firehouse Subs is opening a 2nd location here.

Some status update pictures were shared over on Retail Talk & Share NB Facebook group:

- Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House is now open at Lancaster Crossing, (621 Fairville Blvd).

- Work happening on the inside of Lancaster Crossing. Making way for a large almost 20,000sf daycare facility, taking up pretty much all of the remaining mall interior.

- Status update of the new No Frills coming soon to Parkway Mall, (212 McAllister Drive). The interior is looking closer to the end stages. Fixtures, cash registers and signage inside are installed. Sources say grand opening is end of May 2025.

It's been reported over on Retail Talk & Share that apparently Laura Secord inside McAllister Place is permanently closing. Liquidation has commenced.

I noticed the signage is up for the Stacked Pancakes on McAllister, The website says "opening April" so they must be getting close.

Has anyone tried the one on the Westside yet?

Sources are saying that Noodlebox is apparently opening next door to the newly opened Cannabis NB on McAllister Drive, (Tim Hortons building). They currently have a location in Moncton that opened back in November 2024. https://www.noodlebox.ca/

In some gaming retail news, the GameStop Canada store name is now dead nationwide.

A Stephan Tetrault has purchased the assets of GameStop Canada, and will be bringing back the EB Games Canada name to replace GameStop.

It means that EB Games is now back at McAllister Place after a 4-year absence.
