Poillievre is not a mini-Trump clone. This is self evident.
He will have a great deal of difficulty in convincing the average Canadian voter of this however.
Canadians are angry. They are frightened, and, are newly patriotic. They want to show this patriotism in an affirmative manner. This newly found patriotism has been instilled by a common enemy - Donald Trump. Trump has galvanized Canadian patriotism in a manner similar to Adolph Hitler during WWII.
Yes, I have said it. Donald Trump is the new Adolph Hitler. Trump is absolutely toxic. Any form of association with this vile man wiil destroy political careers. Poillievre will have to completely disassociate himself from MAGA rhetoric and ideology. It may already be too late for this. PP's whole persona is ted up with MAGA-like sloganeering. There are tonnes of PP's three-word slogans out there that Liberal party can use against him in TV ads. I have already seen some of them on TV, They are lethal.
How does PP combat this Trump association? I argue he will have do go all nuclear on Trump and try to become Captain Canada. Does PP actually want to do this? There are elements of his base who would be furious.
