Looking at the temperature data for Fredericton from Jan and Feb the average temp has been -9 this winter. The average has been -3 the last several years, according to The Weather Network. It has been a cold winter.
Currently it is -13 with -18 wind chill. Large snowstorm tonight. 25-30cm.
I was out in Newmarket for an event via Brampton, geocaching and seeing friends. We're currently experiencing a two course meal of a winter storm, with an expected *about* 10 cm of snow as a starter/appetizer today, followed by the mains tomorrow morning and afternoon of an additional 15-25 cm of snow.
My last three images are from Mississauga, just 3 hours ago. On a side note, I just shovelled my dad's driveway, and have recorded 9 cm so far.
-12C (windchill -20) and sunny in Moncton at 10 AM.
The storm begins this evening here about 5 PM. Mostly snow transitionong to ice pellets mixed with freezing rain. A snowfall warning has been issued with about 15 cm expected. Again, Moncton is in a bit of a sweet spot with heavier snow to our north, and significant quantities of freezing rain to our south.

Sun and cloud and 2 degrees at 2pm. After a very long stretch of cold temperatures and wintery conditions, today is a nice break, even if it's still a little windy.
Snow to rain for tomorrow, but nothing major. 2-4 cm of snow and ice, trace amounts of rain.
So far, we're at about 19 CM accumulated since yesterday....my snow banks are very much nearly full. (This being in Mississauga, but it's true across the region - the roads are a complete wash right now*)
I heard on the news that all Toronto Library branches are closed for the long weekend as well due to this weather.
The snow stopped around 11am here, we got about 7cm, not bad. The snow was wet, so it was pretty heavy shoveling

It's a proper blizzard in Montreal. This makes Thursday's storm look like nothing. Very heavy snow, strong wind and whiteout conditions. We're already at 32cm of snow with another 15 or so before things clear up. We'll have gotten nearly 75cm of snow in just a few days!
City of Ottawa has ordered private snow removal operators who clear private properties to stop operating until tomorrow because municipal snow plowing on city streets has gotten too chaotic.

I barely have anything to shovel, just a tiny front walk leading from the sidewalk to my front porch. But because the chenillettes (the little snowplows that clear the sidewalk) don't seem to be running today, I shovelled the sidewalk and my neighbours' front paths too. There's something really satisfying about creating a neat little path in such a large amount of snow.
The advantage of city living I guess. When I was a teenager in the suburbs I absolutely hated having to shovel the enormous driveway in front of my parents' two-car garage, even though it rarely snowed this much in Calgary.

Same satisfaction here, but there is a 'Yang' in that equation, when you're heading back indoors and you hear that rumbling sound of a snow plow coming up the road

I have to say, it’s nice to see winter images from Montreal that I remember from decades past. The recent warm winters seemed very un-Central Canada!

When people were saying they saw forecasts of -14 and -15 in Vancouver, I had no idea where they were getting those (coldest forecasts I saw at that time were -9).
So, here are the coldest recorded temps during the cold wave during the first half of February:
Vancouver Harbour -4.4
White Rock -6.6
West Vancouver -6.8
Agassiz -8.1
Vancouver (YVR) -8.9 (16.5 CM of snow)
Pitt Meadows -9.0
Abbotsford -11.2
So, in the Fraser Valley only Abbotsford dipped below -10 (they are usually the coldest up in the Fraser Valley) but all stations within Metro-Vancouver itself remained above -10, and Vancouver Harbour didn't even dip below -5.

I find that interesting, because Weather Office, The Weather Network, and my default IPhone forecasts never went below -10 in their forecasts and generally fell in line with what happened.
-10C with a wind chill of -21 and blizzarding. Montreal is actually under a blizzard warning which is something quite rare.
At 4PM, we had 27 cm accumulation. It's still snowing although more lightly. We will end the day with another 30+ cm. The below average snow banks just a week ago are long history with 2 30+ cm storms in 4 days.
I like snowstorms but this snow when it's frigid out is not good.
Low of -11C (wind chill of -21) this morning. Very little variation which is expected with this snow and wind.
The warmspot was Kindakun Rocks, BC at 9.0C.
Warmest low was Kindakun Rocks and Herbert Island, BC at 5.9C.
We didn't end up getting all that much snow today. We received 13 cm today, on top of the 9 received yesterday, for a total of 22 cm. I was genuinely wondering if we'd see 20-40 cm, but I'm kind of glad we didn't see anything too crazy as the snowbanks are quite big at the moment. Pearson International has been having a LOT of delays, and many recreational facilities in the GTA are closed for the long weekend due to the weather.

Pretty well back to normal Vancouver winter weather now. Mild, a little wet and mostly overcast.
