There was speculative rumours a number of years ago that Walmart was looking at a new supercenter store out at Wharncliffe and Wonderland area.

Wonder if this may be back in play now?

I was checking out the website for the new townhomes going up on Sunningdale east of Adelaide, and it says that a new No Frills is opening soon at Adelaide/Sunningdale, which caught me by surprise lol, so I tried to do a little investigating: https://novalondon.ca/london-home-rentals/

The address / map marker though is pointed at the southeast corner where the Sunripe/Dollarama/LCBO is, which doesn't make sense... however the commercial lands at the northeast corner (beside the YMCA) are owned by York Dev and there is already a page on their website.

If you look at the site-plan for York's proposed plaza at the NE corner, it looks like there is a spot big enough for a No-Frills .... maybe it will go there?

That corner would also be good for a mixed use residential project. York should consider zoning change to allow for a tower or two with commercial/retail in the podiums.

A site-plan application was filed today to allow for an addition to the existing Peavy Mart building.

No idea if the new owner is planning to re-use this building for another commercial retailer when Peavey Mart closes, or partition it into smaller retailer units. A building permit would still need to be filed either way.

I know it wasn't realistic but I was really hoping we could get a local hardware store there. Like a Home Hardware.

Would be good to see Tricar build another building downtown. Although most of their buildings are nothing to write home about, I feel their design is getting slightly better over time and the added residents will only help downtown.

The latter is a slowly rotting farmhouse that was briefly occupied by the Conservative candidate for London West. It was supposed to be incorporated within a twin of the eight-story retailing/apartment complex, which was to replace the former plaza.

There is a official plan amendment to allow for a 12s residential building at 1111 Westdell Bourne. This is currently a SFH immediately north of the new Wendy's commericla-retail site corner.

1111 Westdel Bourne– The purpose and effect of this Official Plan and zoning change is to permit a 12-storey apartment building with 206 units and 3-storey stacked townhouses with 14 units. Possible amendment to the Official Plan to add a site-specific policy in the Neighbourhoods Place Type to permit a 12-storey apartment building and 3-storey stacked townhouses. Possible change to Zoning By-law Z.-1 to amend the zone from a Residential R1 (R1-14) Zone to a Residential R9 Special Provision (R9-7( )) Zone with special provisions to permit the proposed development. The City may also contemplate alternative zoning such a different base zone, additional permitted uses, additional special provisions (i.e. height and/or density), and/or the use of holding provisions. File: OZ-25072. Planner: A. Riley.

This must account for more than just the one SFH, there are 3 there. The one immediately north has a pretty small lot, while the next 2 are quite deep and would make up a decent area to accommodate this.

Interesting to see a couple of trucks for what might be surveyors on the old Military Depot property NE of the Highbury Ave overpass. This property as far as I know doesn't belong to Old Oaks yet. Could it be in play for future development?

Without disclosing too much, the former Beer Store structure will remain and be repurposed. It should still be beneficial for the area, but no plans for it to be converted to residential anytime soon AFAIK
