It’s not “from the JdM”. It’s from an ex-Minister who’s also a professor at HEC.

And FYI, your opinion of the JdM is out of date and out of touch. Back when there were other competitors, it was somewhat of a rag, but now that it’s become the only mainstream written media (medium?), it’s moved to the center and it’s reasonably unbiased now. (I’d take it over the CBC any day, bias-wise.)

When’s the last time you read it? 1990s?

In all seriousness, part of the reason why New Brisavoine has his finger on the pulse of modern Quebec better than MolsonEx and you do, would be related to the fact that he might read stuff like the JdM regularly (online) while you two don’t.

This winter has been awfully cold even here. And still no warming up in sight. I was checking earlier the temperatures last year from Feb. 1 to 11 in Paris, the max temperatures in the afternoon were between 11 and 14C everyday. The year before: between 9 and 11C. The year before: between 10 and 15C. That's global warming.

And then this year, between Feb. 1 and 11: max temperatures between 4 and 10C (with most days not higher than 8C).

And the weather forecast says we have one more week to go before FINALLY having a temperature above 10C. Sunday night could even reach below 0C in central Paris (which means -5C in the countryside). This is like February in the 1990s!! Can't stand it anymore.

Last year we had +19C on Feb. 15, but this is not going to be the case this year (only 8C expected this coming Feb. 15, and probably below 0 at night like I've said).

PS: My friends in Seattle also tell me their winter has been pretty cold, with much more snow than usual.

Le Journal de Montréal actually had the best range of commentators with the widest range of opinions (left, right, independence, federalism, union people, wokes, anti-wokes, reactionaries, young, old, anglos, minorities) of any newspaper in Quebec at the moment.

I like how this thread jumps from topic to topic seamlessly. Two posts ago we were destroying harls and I was about to join the brawl, but now we're talking about the weather. Here in North America, it is a "La Nina" year, meaning temperatures below normal.

Yes, their opinion pieces are notably shorter than other publications like Le Devoir and La Presse.

I still think they have a better range of views represented though.

The evolution of Le Devoir is perhaps the most surprising, as it was traditionally the unapologetically nationalist and even separatist newspaper.

Now its official line often seems more like "OK maybe it's true we should be independent, but what if we're racist, transphobic and zionist?"

Snow is a blessing. You don't realize because you have so much of it. You are spoiled, lol.

A number of our ski resorts in the mountain are at stake because of the lack of snow over the years...

It is sad. Skiing is great fun.

As for Florida, I'd rather leave it to Trump and the likes. It's been more and more frequently hit by hurricanes, which is very sad too.
