Great shots as always, Solar! Thank you!

This is probably one of the most unique high rise floor plates that I can think of...not often that you see an oblong hexagon building plan.

They are on full display here and lots of scrutiny from the neighbors.

They probably will dig another hole 984 feet deep.

True, but I'm gonna guess no.

The way things are going that wouldn't surprise me either.

Cool pics BTW, hope to see it taking shape by spring.

does anyone think that these buildings could be given a height increase if they do get it how tall?

The one under construction isn't getting a height bump. Who knows what will happen with the next one?

That drove footage is awesome. Shows the potential footpring of the north side of the second tower. For so long I was trying to figure out what was going on with the underground work and why it angled over like that. Now it all makes sense.

Looks like a coffin. A proper burial for the Chicago Spire

Despite the extreme height difference I actually think this is better looking, bonus points if the second tower is also built.

If someone could build something taller at the Parcel I site (RIP) and Tribune East (also RIP?) that would *almost* make up for how epic the spire would have been.

I agree, this will make the skyline look a lot more balanced. Having a 2000 foot tower right on the lake front would overpower the skyline and ruin the proportions. It would need to be more centrally placed, along the river or on the Loop, for it to not stick out like the sore thumb.

I'm still holding out hope for Tribune East, even if its most likely shelved.

As much as I still mourn the loss of the spire I always wished it were somewhere else for this reason. Even at less than half the height this tower is going to dominate the mouth of the river
