Looks like there are components of the crane on site now.

I'm getting excited for this.

Construction update. A little late, this photo was taken on Christmas Eve. I can't wait to see it rise. 12/24/24.

That crane's a beauty! I can't wait to use the facilities. I will be there to read any newspaper for free, daily, and I hope they still have my dad's book, a local author, on the shelf. We'll see.

Can this thread be re-classified to "Under Construction"?

I think there was a partial basement prior to the redesign.

The link beneath the photo of the tower crane has some more recent photos that show the shoring and aluma beams for the first suspended slab. Since those were posted, there has been quite a bit more work done. If you go by the site now, you'll see that the slab deck formwork is in place and rebar is getting tied on top of it.

They're removing the brick chimney (confirmed via a friend working on the project). I'd assume it's just not used anymore and might be structurally suspect due to the age of the building.

Good pictures. Can't wait for the curves. This is great infill. Haha. And to be honest, 2nd Avenue, as it goes all the way to 33rd St., should be way more prominent and support a better canyon than it does today. Lot's of parking lots to gobble up with apartments and offices coming out the other end. Here's hoping.

I'm not gonna lie. I wish they would've extended the teepee idea to about six or seven floors as a facade and gradual tapering to an end that made the library more prominent and iconic. NTL, all's good as it is actually being built.
