dude this isn't warehouse work or hospital shift work, or flexible office hours.

Other places around the world have a lot more people and a lot longer civil construction season. Alberta and Edmonton in particular is very unique as it's a small population, by global standards, but has a disproportionately large industrial sector that consumes a significant amount of labour.
You also can tell you've never done any manual labour and impact of long shifts on you personally or your loved ones. No surprise even the new generation of trades people are less interested in working mass amount of overtime.
Eventually you will have to stop saying 'other places in the world' and actually understand what the specific constraints are here. Knack too, he sounds like a simpleton...more people for longer means done faster, problem solved. I wonder how no other person was able to figure that solution out.

^good to (finally) see. This should help make transit far less confusing and more approachable for many. ARC is ok, but not particularly modern or intuitive.

Well, this is a fun update: our yearly ridership figures have been calculated, and ridership hit a new record with a total of **61.6 million** completed trips in 2024 using ETS. That is 12% higher than 2019 and 15% higher than 2023 (55.2 million in 2019 and 53.5 million in 2023). Thank you to our riders, teams and our service partners!

So what's next? We are actively working on finalizing this year’s service plan and have more service-related improvements on the way in 2025 which can keep the momentum going. This includes:
- Transit Priority Measures to help the reliability of our buses across the network;
- 50,000 more annual bus service hours starting in April;
- Open payment options for Arc fare payment;
- Introducing a new multi-day Arc pass; and,
- Introducing a new trip planner tool, among other things.

Lots to look forward to!

Better there than in the street where they'd be blocking actual vehicle traffic

How many bikes would have been inconvenienced that day by the vehicle being there as compared to vehicles on the street if the truck parked there?

That's nitpicking at it's finest. For the amount of time that truck was probably there, the bikes could have gone around it while they did their job.

I'm betting the farm that the truck was there mid-morning or mid-afternoon, and was gone before the start of rush hour.

Nobody goes downtown anymore, so the likelihood of blocking any form of traffic is minimal. LOL

^ Don’t see a person or a bike in the picture.

And that’s right by city centre mall.

Enough said

lol good one

But in actuality, 102 Ave is barely used by vehicle traffic, so even if it was in the vechicle lane, few people would be inconvenienced.

It's not the inconvenience, it's the lack of respect.

So realistically, a mid-2029 opening or still upwards of '4 more years'?

I'm taking the head of ETS for coffee in two weeks to chat more about my/my coworkers/family and friends experiences of late and hope to relay that much of the LRT experiences are sub par at best, often require inhaling noxious substances, with stations and platforms having miscellaneous items too gross and disgusting to note.

Yes, I'm sure the head of ETS is completely unaware of this, and will be shocked to hear you say such things.
