Not sure how big this one, but a sizable foundation had been poured and are now starting to work on the first floor.
It's too bad the Ferndale Apartments burned down, that was a nice building. The drawings for the replacement building are here. Looks like a 3-story 12-plex.

Also, does anyone know what is going in at the corner of Ellice and Simcoe? I recall someone saying the lot was cleared recently.

It’s cleared and it appears drainage and/or water/sewer services were installed, but it has sat idle since Oct. No permit info available as it doesn’t seem to have an address.

There is a comedy club going in the Ashdown Market so the kitchen is probably to satisfy the food requirement of the liquor license.

I have heard through the grapevine that this is a serious proposal. Sounds like the project applied for HAF (Housing Accelerator Fund) funding.

Speaking of which, I have heard that another round of projects receiving HAF funding will be announced soon. There was no second round of applications; projects that applied for the first round of funding but were unsuccessful are now being considered for the second round of funding.

One thing I noticed with the McGillivray twinning is that it's only the Provincial portion being twinned. It goes back to two lanes prior to the City boundary. One would assume the City would be more involved as it also impacts Bishop Grandin extensions. But again it's off City land so maybe not.

One thing that irked me with the McGillivray twinning is the future intersection of the beltway and McGillivray. They propose a diamond interchange with the lights on the beltway vs being on McGillivray. They're also proposing 7 sets of traffic lights on McGillivray, I shit you not.
I still remember when Sam Katz to us that "real cities build at-grade intersections," and that rapid transit and limit access roads were "woke."

Man, that little goblin was just the worst, even more so when you consider he and his buddies robbed the city blind a couple times.

Don't know about the closing hours of the other comedy club locations in Winnipeg but from what I have heard the Ashdown location will be closed by midnight. They decided to go this route when they applied to MLCC, as to reduce any objections from the condo residents above them.

It was supposed to be announced today wasn’t it? I heard that the 10th is when they were supposed to tell the applicants that they are receiving funding. Unless I am misinformed. Maybe it’s later?

The church hours are unfortunate. But someone who used to live there told me that those condos have VERY poor sound insulation, so it's only fair.

Sounds like the spot where the Anne Oake treatment facility is supposed to be built.

I can attest to this as I lived there for 5 years. 2 years on the 4th floor and 3 on the second facing Rorie. Sound was bad between units but not up or down due to the concrete.
