None of the pictures I've seen does it justice. In person, it's far more obvious. It takes a nice, clean design and adds a bunch of flat/beige panels that don't match the stone.

It will still be an amazing landmark for Ottawa. The money shot will be the northern exposure towards Gatineau where these panels were not installed (for obvious reasons).

Completely disagree. I expected it to look really bad based on the photos posted here, but in person the panels stand out much less and almost look like natural variations in the stone's colour.

It's highly dependent on the light under which you see the building. I've seen it be extremely jarring, but it can also be hard to notice them.

The window where its jarring is pretty limited. the angle of viewing and the angle of the sun has to be right for it to look bad otherwise they are pretty unnoticeable

Technically the "plaques" were always in the renderings, I think they were meant to be a little more sparse and less "dark" but I beleive its highly dependant on lighting.

It adds a nice contrast if anything.

Never noticed those on the renderings. They are much more prominent in real life. I was bothered by them at first, but I'm getting used to them now. Unfortunately, anyone who doesn't live here won't have a chance to get used to them.
