Reality has returned.

-5C and light snow in Moncton at 10 AM. There is just enough snow down tp whiten the ground.

We have no storms on the horizon, but, we are expecting flurries most days for the next week.

-30C with windchill in outlying areas, but a balmy -28C Downtown.

Some sun, some cloud, some wind. Went to the county forest a little north of Cobourg. Still some snow up there.

Honestly this view is somewhat unique for Southern Ontario. Gives some Algonquin vibes.

-5C with a wind chill of -13 and mainly cloudy. Once again, sun popped briefly every once in a while.

-4C (wind chill of -12) last night. It's the 3rd consecutive day where the high was a achieved shortly after the start of the new meteorological day. It has been a long and steady decrease in temperature but nothing too extreme. About 3-4C a day.

The warmspot was Solander Island, BC at 9.1C

Warmest low was Solander Island, BC at 7.0C.

A cold one compared to yesterday, but a second sunny day in a row. Currently -2C at my place, and most things outside are white with frost.

Made it home just in time for the next crackhouse episode.

EDIT: I am not having a good day

Sunny and 3 at 11am. Highs today near 4 this afternoon. Winds already light, will completely calm ahead of the very powerful storm about to roll in.

Rainfall warning, wind warning, and a coastal flooding warning, for overnight into tomorrow morning. 20-40 mm of rain, winds gusting to 120, and moderate storm surge. Will not be a pleasant night.

Your nor'easter will miss Moncton completely. There are winter storm warnings out however for Cape Breton and eastern PEI.

Currently -8C and sunny in Moncton at 11 AM. Sunny the next three days, then cloudy with flurries for the balance of the week.

There is another major storm crossing the American heartland this weekend, exiting the continent south of Boston. Sounds nasty for Washington DC. It appears this storm is also going to miss us.

It's mostly blue sky and sunshine in Halifax today. Currently it's .01. Our low was -2.5 this morning at 6 am. Yesterday's high was .06.

This coming week we're looking at a few days of below normal high temps with highs of just -7, -5 and -3 before highs return to more normal. Overnight low temps are looking closer to a normal -8. We have a low chance of flurries later in the week but no accumulation is expected. I've been enjoying having no snow on the ground.

Nasty day, especially near Lake Ontario. I wasn't expecting the waves to be so strong as they're coming out of the northwest and Cobourg is on the north shore. In any case it's a wee bit choppy haha.

Some refuge in this direction. The dark clouds on the left are squall clouds originating from Lake Huron, some 200 km away. Don't see that very often.

Sun is set but the nice day effect is still lingering on my street lol.

I think today's total was 2 fire trucks, 13 police cars, and one ambulance over three incidents.

-10C with a wind chill of -19 and cloudy. Some very light flurries throughout the day but it wasn't even enough to accumulate. We still have bare ground except for mid to large piles.

Low of -12C (wind chill of -23) this morning.

The warmspot was a tie way between Discovery Island and Cumshewa Island and Kindakun Rocks, BC at 8.7C.

Warmest low was Solander Island, BC at 7.3C.

2024 was the 2nd year ever that YUL never dipped below -20C. -17.8C was our coldest temperature all year.

2024 was also the warmest year overall with a 9.6C yearly mean temperature.

Storm is a bit of a dud so far. Winds are impressive but no snow to start and very little rain.

Walked to the grocery and I had to carry all my bags back in one hand so they would stop blowing into my legs, but never got wet at all.

*****

Some welcome damage to a facade downtown I'm tired of photographing around/cropping out lol Whatever cladding replaces it can't be worse given it cannot be grandfathered in.

Waves outside of St. John's (not in the harbour, or even the outer bay, but just beyond both) have reached as high as 11m.

Around 6K without power thus far, mostly between the Avalon and Bonavista peninsulas.

-13C (-22 windchill) in Moncton at 11 AM but sunny. The arctic chill has steered the nor'easter towards Newfoundland, therefore I do not begrudge the cold temperatures.

Benign weather for the next week. There is only a light dusting of snow on the ground. Perfect for me.

Cloudy, some light rain/drizzle, very windy, and 4 degrees at 12:30PM. Strongest wind gust reported so far at YYT was 115 km/hr.

Considerable amounts of coastal damage along the northeast coast. High waves, high winds, and storm surge, are doing quite the number between Bonavista and Baie Verte.

EDIT: Peak wind gust in Bonavista at 136 km/hr, 142 km/hr at Grates Cove.
