That would be awesome! Thanks. I grew up in SA but have lived out of it for years. It will always have a place in my heart. And I watched Victor Wembanyama score 50 last night! Go, Spurs!

I'd appreciate general updates on projects in and around downtown SA (including The Pig & Pearl, Southtown, UTSA area, River North, etc.). I get excited whan there's a new photos in any of the SA threads because it happens so infrequently. So any photos of progress on projects would be greatly appreciated.

I still remember dodging taxi cabs and buses as they rolled in front of the Alamo to get to Rivercenter Mall…it feels like a dream that any of this is happening. I always thought it would look the same forever.

Almost done...just needs some patio tables. Also, the La Tienda store has permanently closed (again) and there was a request for renovation to a tune of 3 million dollars, according to MySA. Only entity I can think of with that kinda cash is Ripleys.

It’s open! And like a diamond from the rough, San Antonio has truly carved out a modern landmark. Hats off to the design team and construction crew, this is wonderful. Happy New Year!

I miss the old gazebo across the Menger. It had more of a classic park look.

I agree, the modern one just isn't doing much for me. But overall the new plaza is a huge improvement, it already seems like an insane distant memory you used to be able to drive in front of the Menger

I cannot wait to do a walk from Civic over to Alamo. Downtown is truly alive and well again. This is just the beginning....

Correct! I had a wedding at the Menger recently. Some of my wedding pictures are featured in the Menger hallway across from the Babe Ruth classic photo.

Site plan as of 2025. I wonder if the "turn Losoya into a two way street" plan is still being done...cause it's still a bad idea. Losoya is simultaneously a service loading area for the shops of Alamo Plaza and the Riverwalk, and I can't see how you could have it both ways without it being a detriment to the pedestrian and in turn the bars that go up and down Losoya to Commerce from Crockett way.

It was announced on Good Morning America that the location of the limestone quarry which the Alamo was built with has finally been discovered, on the west side of the modern San Antonio Zoo. This was discovered by way of the current expansion and construction of the zoo's coming soon Congo Falls gorilla exhibit.

What a way to appreciate the 189th anniversary of the Battle of the Alamo today! May we never forget the struggle and sacrifices both sides of Texas dealt with during this revolutionary time.
