-11C and sunny in Moncton at 10 AM. It's supposed to get as warm as -2C this afternoon,

Been a few degrees above normal for the longest time, highs for the past 3 weeks have been between 3c-6c and much of the same in the forecast.

No snow in the valley bottoms but the top of the ski hills are getting hit hard, making for some fantastic December skiing.

-7C (wind chill of -9) and mainly sunny this afternoon. More clouds as the sun was about to set. It's been non stop cold since for almost a week now since I came back. Time for a mild spell.

Low of -15C (wind chill of -20) last night.

The warmspot was Sisters Island, BC at 11.9C.

Warmest low was Discovery Island, BC at 7.6C.

We are the only place (with Iqaluit) in the country being colder than normal.

It's been very mild all week, currently 9.9 degrees and partly sunny. Yesterday was 6.5 with a low of 3.1, and the day before was 4.4 with a low of 2.2. It hasn't been below freezing since the 22nd, other than a quick dip to -0.4 on Christmas morning.

11C here this morning with sunshine, going up to 12C later and 13C tomorrow, beautiful weather for this time of year.

Warm and wet for the next five days, up to +7C on Monday. It will be interesting to see if any snow is still left on the ground when this is all over.

It's a hockey day today. My grandson has a game in about a half hour, followed closely by a Wildcats game at 4 PM.

So mild and no rain today. Sun was even out for a little while. So decided to go on a little nature walk along the creek and valley running along Sheridan College.

My wife loves foraging for mushrooms. I swear most of the mushrooms her and her mother pick don't end up being eaten. It's more about the thrill of the hunt rather than the prize itself. So it makes sense that she feels an affinity to collecting empties. Seeing that shiny object from a distance and wondering if it's what you're hoping for. Of course, she wouldn't do it they weren't worth 10 cents each.

Every week a guy comes along on his bike down my street on recycling day. And every time I go for a walk on a trail there are empties. These guys need to focus more attention on the trails in the woods where bros go to secretly drink. Especially if it's beside a college.

Wow, that's a lot of empties megadude! Holy cow. I'm sure htere are areas of Toronto like that, but nothing near me. The closest I get to seeing anything like that is people dumping 🞵🞵🞵🞵 into ravines or the Don Valley. It's disheartening, but it is what it is.

Anyways, it was very mild today, with 9C and some rain here and there - although I didn't see any since I was working, but anecdotally heard it was coming down. A lot of the snow in my area has melted, and with the 20-40 MM of rain expected tomorrow, and warmer temperatures, tomorrow is going to 🞵🞵🞵🞵.

Bit of a warm up coming later in the week with more rain in the forecast.

With just 19 cm of snow this month, we are about 50 cm below average for the month of December. December is a very inconsistent month for snowfall though.

Yesterday was great in the sense that I could easily go in and out of the house in a tshirt and sandals. No need to layer up or anything like that. However, no snow now and my kids haven't gone tobogganing yet this winter. The days there were snow it was either too cold or a weekday and therefore too dark when I could take them.

Today will indeed be a garbage day with rain despite being mild. Feels like a waste. And not looking forward to the forecast showing -5 to -8 highs for a while.

Overcast and +3C in Moncton at 3 PM. This is the first day of a five day thaw. +8C tomorrow and +7C on New Years Eve.

New Years Eve kicks off with a Wildcats game at the Avenir Centre at 4 PM followed by a concert and street party just outside on Main Street and the adjacent Avenir Centre Plaza lasting until midnight. There will be public skating on the refrigerated skating oval on the plaza (which, given the freezing plant I assume will go on despite the warm temperatures), and, two fireworks displays - one at 7 PM just after the hockey game ends, and, the other traditionally at midnight. It should be a good time.

And, for SHH, one of the bands at the street concert will be Signal Hill
