The city's estimates that the province's plan will cost more than the tunnel lacks credibility and includes costs which don't and won't exist. The city is assuming that the city will cancel all current contracts and go to market again (which is unnecessary and estimated at $723 million alone), and includes an assumption that compensation will need to be paid to towers adjacent to 2nd Street (estimated in 2016/17 at between $236 million to $473 million).

Unfortunately we are going to have to change the name of this thread to simply Green Line LRT as the project cost has ballooned so much since the beginning and I’m not sure if the current cost estimates will even ring true.
