I don’t mind the height here. I actually want to see more variety, there are so many tall buildings in Hudson Yards, with more on the way. There’s a certain lack of scale that’s missing I think.

A little bulk doesn't hurt versus absolute height.

At least its heading in the right direction. A nice office boom, and what we really need, more residential. So much demand that a whole new city could be built in theory.

^ Yeah, enough blue glass towers over there already.

The Hudson Yards complex in New York City has been lauded as one of the most transformative developments in modern urban planning, and its latest addition, 70 Hudson Yards, continues this tradition of innovation and architectural excellence. Scheduled for completion in 2026, 70 Hudson Yards is not just another office building; it’s the next generation of lifestyle office spaces, designed to cater to evolving tenant demands while making a bold statement as New York’s first zero-carbon emission building.

Spanning 1.37 million square feet across 45 floors, 70 Hudson Yards is being developed by the prestigious Related Companies, with architecture by Roger Ferris + Partners and Gensler. The building represents a delicate balance between aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability. The tower's architectural form is dynamic, with subtle folds and shifts throughout, ensuring uninterrupted views of the Manhattan skyline and the Hudson River for its tenants. These shifts also create outdoor terraces, providing spaces for employees to step out, connect with nature, and take in the breathtaking vistas.

It looks like this tower’s design has evolved. This looks great! That being said, I want 175 Park to get a tenant before this.

Related is in talks with potential tenants for a 47-story tower it plans to build at 70 Hudson Yards, where asking rents are as high as $200 a square foot, Visser said.

Just north of Related’s project, the Spiral — a 66-story skyscraper that opened last year — is nearly full with tenants including HSBC Bank USA. The bank, which has a hybrid work policy for most employees, has about an 80% office-utilization rate at the Spiral, up from roughly 40% at its previous building, a spokesperson said.

“More than double the number of people are coming to work, because they love where they work,” said Rob Speyer, CEO at Tishman Speyer, the Spiral’s developer. And the bank has already expanded its lease at the tower, after moving in just earlier this year.

This tower looks beautiful, but I’d hate to see any future project get a tenant before 175 Park.

Reminds me of 5 WTC. Is it the same architect?

I agree, though the folds here are more pronounced and more numerous. I think this looks much nicer than 5 WTC. The architects are different.

I think this breaks ground in early 2025. There's no space available in Hudson Yards.

The plan is to get it started sometime next year (which begins in a couple of weeks).

The large development firm Related Companies, meanwhile, says that four office towers it has built with Oxford Properties as part of their Hudson Yards mega-project, are now 99% full. The team is readying to begin a new 45-story, 1.1-million-square-foot office property called 70 Hudson Yards next year.

"We think we're going to be one of the only new buildings in '27, '28 when there's going to be no new supply," Philippe Visser, Related's president of office development, said.

I wonder if they’ll build without a tenant.

I wish that RXR could partner with a Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund that could finance 175 Park on spec. If it’s built, it will fill up. I’d hate to see a 2 WTC scenario at 175 Park.

It appears to be, and I agree that it's gorgeous. The shape also is magnificent, it has a lot of luscious folds like a beautiful .....

It's much nicer than KPF's proposed, bland glass box at 343 Madison.
