^ My weekend ritual is going to my local French patisserie and chilling on the sidewalk with a coffee and pistachio pain au chocolat.

It's run by a guy from Southern France. He does a good job of bringing those flavours to Mt. Pleasant.

It was rainy yesterday morning, but the sun came out in the afternoon. High of 12c.

Downtown was basically overtaken by the Taylor Swift Show and her global gang of Swifties.

Gorgeous, giallo.

Still some ferns alive here. No banana trees.

3C and a mix of sun and clouds.

Low of -4C (wind chill -9) last night. It got progressively warmer. A good 10 cm of snow fell overnight. A little bit melted during the day but everything is now covered solidly.

The warmspot was Victoria (University), BC at 11.4C.

Warmest low was Discovery Island, BC at 7.0C.

A chilly -9C (windchill -17C) in Moncton at 8 AM and sunny, going up to -4C this afternoon.

A warm-up on Wednesday and Thursday this week, up to +11C, but with heavy rain and strong winds, It won't be pleasant, but, at least the snow on the ground should melt.

The howling wind and driving rain sounds like here yesterday. Sunday was truly a miserable day. Flurries in the morning almost covered the grass before the rain came and washed it all away. At 9 am Sunday our temp was -5.4 and by late afternoon +5.9. At 9 am this morning we're at -0.8 heading for just +1 or so under mostly sunny skies and calm winds.

I saw a video of the lines at the border crossing north for the concert. Horrendously long. No idea if it was like that here at the crossings into Niagara. I wasn’t Downtown for any of the six shows so don’t know how it compared to the pics above.

Anyway, waited till Sunday evening to check the lights at the park because it was mild. Some people prefer there to be snow so it looks more magical. Not me. Would make it annoying walking around the park for 20 minutes. It was mild and calm enough for me to want to go launch on the lake and go fishing.

Sparrows feeding under the wheel well again (few days ago). Years ago they would eat the rust off an old Jetta my wife had. Looks like they’re eating salt pellets maybe from the tires. And scavenging through the built up slush. And I just put up the suet in the feeder.

🞵🞵🞵🞵 weather in Toronto today, 0 and rain/ice. Going up to 4 so the ice shouldn't be too bad.

Quick shot of well below seasonal cold over the weekend with a small amount of snow, then back to above seasonal for the start of next week.

We got about 10 cm altogether from that never-ending snow episode last week. The sun and mildness brought it down a bit but it never completely disappeared.

Then we got another 20 cm on the weekend so it was my first time taking out the snowblower.

Looks like this snow will stick around though one never knows.

Warm and slushy here this weekend. At least I believe we had a slush shower on Sat night. Went into the Arden Theater Saturday night to see Mat Anderson and came out to ice slicked sidewalks. Thankfully I had cleats. Ended up helping a lot of people get to their cars. Shoveling slush the next day was tough. But we are above 0 all this week.

We had some freezing rain today. Luckily it didn't seem to form on hard surfaces. It sure is pretty on trees, hard to capture though.

NBC is giving a dewpoint of 45F (so 7C) on Wednesday so the temperature at the very minimum will be that even at 100% humidity while EC forecasting 6C that day (so naturally a lower dewpoint than 6C)

We managed to eek out a high of 2.1 yesterday. The overnight low was -3.6 and currently it's -1.3 and we're heading for a high of 4. Earlier this morning we had snow flurries. Rain will soon start and stay with us through Thursday evening with temps forecast to be upwards of 13.

Yesterday was a great day for the launch of the latest Arctic Patrol Vessel:
