The new multipurpose trail on the west side of Horsman Road is now paved. Only a few final touches needed and it will be complete.

Firehouse Subs signage has been installed on their new location at the Lounsbury Centre.

Still nowhere near ready to open, but clear signs of progress.

Meanwhile, things seem to be at a standstill or near standstill for the new Noodle Box location at the Lounsbury Centre.

The mini tower crane at this site has been put back up (apartment building going up next to Amsterdam Inn on the west end of Mountain Road near the casino).



I guess any engineering issues for the plans of this building have been addressed. They were lucky they only got as far as foundation work before that engineer was exposed as being incompetent.

Three for the price of one at the Lounsbury Centre:



1) - Noodlebox signage now being installed
2) - Firehouse Subs now on the home stretch before opening
3) - Reluminate Studio opening where Queen E Hydroponics used to be (good riddance). I think Reluminate is a tanning salon.

Also, I think there may be something afoot where that optical store used to be next to BMO. There are lights on inside.

If so, ths will bring the Lounsbury Centre up to 100% occupancy.

There is something afoot at Plaza 1909 on Mountain Road.

They have mounted construction fencing around the southeastern portion of the parking lot, and, there is both an excavator and a porta-potty on site. It lloks like they are going to install a new standalone QSR pad.



Could this be the new home for Taco Bell???

Everyone assumed it was going to be built further down Mountain Road where Pizza Hut had been, but, they have since paved over this location for parking.

My spidey-senses are tingling.........

Apparently the location is 1899 mountain road and someone had mentioned an Aaron's Coffee House but with Second Cup right there I have my doubts

The excavator is still on site, but the construction fencing has been removed. Cars are parked everywhere now.

It looks like they cut a small segment of the pavement, but, that's all they did. I wonder what's going on?

Several adjacent units at the Horsman Centre are under active construction. They are being combined to a single unit.

I am privy to what is going to go in here, but, as frequently happens, I have been sworn to secrecy. I however feel comfortable in stating that this business is service related and not retail. It should be a welcome business for the north end.

The small retail plaza at the corner of Mountain and Trinity, containing Goji’s has apparently secured a tenant for the last vacant CRU. No idea who the tenant is yet.

The deliberations for the 2025 budget for the city of Moncton are concluded.

I saw a post on Facebook earlier this evening by councillor Butler, mentioning $500,000 in the budget for preliminary design work for a new municipal aquatic facility. Unfortunately I can't find this post again, but, this information is confirmed by the city of Moncton on their own Facebook page.

In addition,Bryan mentioned that the facility will be located in the north end, although on direct questioning by people who replied to his post, he refused to say exactly where due to confidential negotiations with the land owner.

He also said this would be an indoor facility, and, that the city was looking at budgeting $5M for additional work in the 2026 budget.

This has been a dream for north end residents for at least the last two decades. Could it finally be happening???

The ideal location as far as I'm concerned would be on Twin Oaks, across the parking lot from the pre-existing Moncton North YMCA.

I hope this is true.

Here's his post in the neighbourhood Facebook group.

"For Ward 3, we have passed in the budget for $500,000 for the pool design and plans to be drawn up. Also in 2026, 5 million has been placed in the budget for the building of the pool."

In a reply to a question about whether it would be indoors, he responded "Hopefully indoors."

I'm curious how that's possible for $5 million. The outdoor Centennial Park pool opened in 2020 cost almost $6 million and was on land the city already owned.

A good question.

An outdoor pool is only useful for two months a year. This would be a waste of resources. It should be an indoor facility.

With Dieppe already having a deluxe indoor aquatic facility, and, Riverview following suit, it's high time that the city of Moncton did the same.

Perhaps the cost of the pool will be spread over a couple of years. If a new pool didn't open until 2027, then the final cost could be in the $10-12M range.
