I expect they are rushing to beat freezing temps. I understand delays that resulted in winter concrete pouring on the Wentworth added significant unbudgeted costs.

Yes this one seems to be moving a lot faster now, at least when compared to the painfully slow pace on the waterfront:

I think it doesn't help much they had to do the sea wall project. But they were pounding the steel beams around early November last year.
Wish there was a webcam pointing on the King Street build.

It's awesome to see rebar and forms in place after so many years of staring at an empty hole. The Charlotte Street section at the top of King is also coming together quickly, they were putting in the granite curbs on King Square when I walked by earlier today, it will look fantastic when completed.

There is a webcam on the roof of the Admiral Beatty. I see Donna Reardon on fb talking about this project and showing pictures of it. I messaged her to ask her to move the camera a bit so we could see the development. She said it was a great idea. That was a month ago!!

Great angle, I love seeing the footings lined up with the rest of the buildings on King Street. Design niggles aside, this will be a fantastic development to see go up, especially for its impact on King Square and the City Market's vibrancy.

More of the foundation was being poured today, and forms for the sides are starting to go up on the western end of the building.

I know what you mean, it feels like there had been so much pessimism about this project - and rightly so given how long it was idle - that it is almost still a surprise every time I go past the site and see so much activity going on.

Cannot wait to see this one get above grade, it will be a huge boost to confidence in the Uptown.

The mayor shared on social media this closer up rendering on a summary post of tonight’s council meeting.

Also a Committee of the Whole item was approved at the meeting tonight as well relating to this development.

“The City of Saint John entered into an agreement for a Tier 2 Urban Development Incentive Grant Application with 99 King St. G.P. Inc”.
