It does not go to the pumping station. It goes to the centre of the property, it excludes the ROW. I don't want to share the image. Maybe there was a drinking fountain there.
A long time ago Colony Creek was there. I don't know when that was filled in, but probably 1955, based on the outfall install date.

There's a council meeting with the purpose of amending zoning by-law to allow as-of-right residential development on lands zoned as commercial, focusing on malls and commercial corridors. This is based on HAF from what it says in the document.

I didn't read it all. But there is a specific item for Transcona area. But it also shows downtown and I would presume affects what is proposed at Polo Park.

Edit: Reading item 2 it will allow for up to 4 units per residential lot city wide.

Man I really wish I can go to the meeting to speak in favour of the changes, but it's on a Tuesday morning/afternoon and I have to work. It's so unfair that the only people who can realistically attend council meetings are retired, it creates such a biased sample.

Yes it's good. If we want to tackle the housing crisis, we need to allow new housing to built in places that are not on the permitter highway. If we want the city to stop being broke, we need more people paying for less infrastructure and services. If we want to create an equitable city we need to allow access to neighbourhoods for people who can't afford, or do not want to live in a house.

my prediction is city council will kick this down the road until the conservatives get elected and then they will cancel it.

I was under the impression that Gillingham was strongly in favour of changing the by-laws to access the HAF money? If that's the case wouldn't he push to get this done ASAP to access the money while it's still up for grabs?

Political aside: I'm also not sure it's as much of a done deal that PeePee and the Conservatives are to get in next year as it seems. If nothing changes then he's in, and public funding for housing will dry up. However, unless the Conservatives able to trigger an early election, Canada will gave almost a year to watch what's happening under Trump in the States. Except for Alberta and Saskatchewan I'm not sure how popular Trump is across Canada. If the Liberals can tie PeePee's agenda close enough to Trumps' it may be a contest, despite Trudeau's multiple failings, especially if it looks grim south of the border.

Politics is a strange animal, and several months can be a lifetime. End of political aside.

Not to pollute this thread with political jargon. but buckle up for a shit storm of propaganda from the Cons and their cronies. The president-elect, his family, etc are all tied in together with PeePee, Harper and the Cons around the world. Jr mentioned specifically they now need to turn attention to Canada and help Peepee.

We can hope for a minority Con government so their life will be hell trying to implement their agenda. Trends around the world showing incumbent governments are getting ousted due to the pandemic and related hardships.

I write letters to City Council all the time. It basically does nothing unfortunately. I've spoken with some City Councilors about writing-in comments and they admitted is basically does nothing, you need to show up in-person or over Zoom if you want to be heard.
