Some more balcony glass from just now. It’s looking pretty clean imo.

Was in downtown Ottawa on business and had a good look at this one.

Really nice! Not typical of most Ottawa condo projects.

Per my previous comment about wondering what the balcony sections would look like without the vertical bars;

Now that a decent portion of the balconies are clad I have to fully endorse its current form.

I wonder what will go in the podiums of these. Any idea on what retail intends to occupy the space?

They had a public consultation when they initially proposed the towers. Their goal seemed to be filling gaps in services for the community. I have no doubt The Renaissance retail will have a restaurant, but the other two towers I could imagine an urban IKEA urban Canadian Tire or other hardware store. There's a decent amount of space to go around, and some large floor plates.

Urban Ikea or Canadian tire would clean up here.

I still think a small Home Hardware similar to what used to be in the Byward Market would do really well here. Small shop with the basics needed for condo owners & tenants but able to order in anything in their full line catalogue. If I am working in the core and need a tube of caulking or some drywall screws I end up driving to Innes Home Depot.

That looks really good. Not just Ottawa good either!

The east end of Kowloon...I mean Ottawa...is really lagging behind the west. Couple of nice projects on Rideau, but everything west of Lyon is looking pretty epic these days.

Visited my well traveled uncle in the U.S. last week. Showed him a picture and he asked if it was Chicago (where I had been a week prior). He was pleasantly surprised when I said no, it's Ottawa.

I see pretty thorough furring installation across the wide band strips at all of the various podium levels. Curious about the detail, assuming there's some sort of roof membrane lapping up and over the podium curbs. With..interior mounted railings?

Will the cladding here be preformed aluminum panels mounted on the furring? (Concealed fasteners?) and how will the curb caps be accomplished? Cut to bits and pieces to fit around the curves? Recently had a disaster of a job with sharp edges all over the place at a curving parapet cap flashing... Matching the clean finishes here as everywhere else will be a skill that someone will need to develop I see that none of the locations have been finished, indicating a bit of additional thought and site instructions from the design team. No mock-ups anywhere either?

Nice closeup. The spandrel is barely visible when viewed from far, but we can see it well here.

It's funny how the mistake of the misplaced square of cladding is still there. Will they ever fix it?

Its strange, looking at the local pattern in the recent images, there's NO instance of that particular panel requiring a left hand side white square. They're all on the right. So why was it created?

I think it's on purpose. Just my thought

Edit: Then again, this is the first one on the build, right? So maybe it was just the guy at the factory getting his lefts and rights mixed up.

Still haven't figured out those terraces eh? I'm starting to get a bit concerned.
