A apartment complex is about ready to get started on College street in Bathurst. The city is catching up to the building boom everywhere else

I've been speaking with the developer. The renderings are being formulated.

Two very important conversations have begun in Bathurst.
1. The creation of a public transit system, very similar to what Miramichi is doing. This one apparently is seeing good traction.
2. The revitalization of Tetagouche Falls just outside the city. The talks include adding a lookout and revamping the walking trail network within the park.

Edmundston setting up a transit system

Details will be released next month with a rollout in February.

The CBC article notes that when Edmundston rolls theirs out, Bathurst and Campbellton will be the only cities without transit.

And as noted above, it sounds like Bathurst is close to announcing their own transit system as well.

Demolition crews have started on the last Silo on the former Bathurst Mill site. The property is being cleaned up by the the provincial government. It currently looks so much better. The next phase takes them into the other side of bridge street.

It looks very much like the rumours are true and that the Titan are off to Newfoundland.

I feel sad for Titan fans, but for how long these rumors have been around, it was only a matter of time.

I hope they make a successful go of it in St. John's, but there's part of me that can't help but feel that in 4 years time or so we'll be hearing about their relocation to somewhere in Quebec/New England.

I imagine Bathurst will be getting a Junior A team within the next year or two.

Indeed. This is a disappointment. The city has done a lot of due diligence to keep the team, only to have it swept from under them. There has been zero notification to the city on this deal. Many were left out of the talks. Big loss for the KC Irving Center.

Not yet, but apparently that hockey blogger hasn't been wrong too often. Apparently a formality vote happens this week. Nfld government has already passed a new law to allow the underage players to play yesterday. The domino's are falling. I think the team in nothern NB is essentially gone.

The old Natural Resources building on Riverside Drive in Bathurst has been torn down. The plan for the site is a 8 story mixed use building.
