Agreed. I noticed the construction fencing has gone up for the government precinct. Buildings should be coming down soon.

Basic foot print released for the new ice plex up in Aberdeen...

What I would like to see is the city push all the way up to Inks lake. Beautiful land up there, and lots of room...

Shitty winters up there tho. I lived at the top of Aberdeen the first 18 years of my life and even up there, it was 5-10 degrees colder than downtown on those frigid winter days.

Tournament Inn has now boarded up and abandoned the easternmost building. The rest of the courtyard now looks like a chop shop landfill. Still no window given on when they plan to start redevelopment.

Who wants to do bets on that burning down this winter?

Id say its 100% chance there is NO plans to re develop that property by current owners, unless they've taken inspiration from the Gill family. Its all to sell the land to someone else just like the David Thompson down town and their 12 floor condo plan. Re-zone to ask more for selling the property. They have had 3 fires and been paid out for insurance all three times. Now, the size of deductible is so large that a fire would likely NOT benefit them. The insurance money during the last fire ( allegedly ) didn't even go to one of the actual owners but his partners who didn't use it as they were supposed to.

Anybody know what's going on across from City Gardens, next to the YMCA. I think its 448 Battle. Looks like a couple older houses coming down soon.

It shows those houses are part of the Y's property. My guess would be that the Y is building something, or they're tearing them down to subdivide the property to sell off.

A bit of a different perspective on Downtown. This view has changed a lot in the last 7-8 years. Will change quite a bit with the BC Builds Buildings.

That's for former Superior Propane offices, right? I was wondering why it was sitting idle for so long. They must of failed to get funding.

SHOCKER :

First Nations oppose expansion of Highland Valley Copper mine due to environmental concerns

ITS NOT ON THEIR LAND.

The NDP opened the doors to allow bands to derail projects ANYWHERE in B.C.

This is why Lytton hasn't been rebuilt and why we still haven't seen the building of the road in Juniper to Rose hill.

Well BC didn't. The brainwashed coast did. Now the rest of us have to live under their extreme policies. Wish we could split BC into 2 provinces and see which one would be more prosperous and safe.

I'm going to ignore the brainwashed comment for a moment and point out that by region the lower mainland determined the election results (granted their density is WAY higher)
Most of BC voted conservative.

The coast is the reason we have an NDP government, thought that was obvious. Now the entire province has to live under their extremist policies. It's too bad we couldn't draw a line along the coastal mountains and create a new province. Would be able to see the which one is more prosperous and safe.

Yup, tell me about it. Lower Mainland folks have unfounded fear of the Conservatives.

Amazingly enough the conservatives did VERY well with all immigrants as well as people out side the lower main land. They tend to have problems reaching those that are white liberals or 1st nations. Both groups tend to be extremists and violent.
YES there are many facts to back that statement up.

Pro Palestine, BLM, ECO and environmental terrorisms, attack on pipe line workers and logging camps. EXTREME RACISM against Jews, Canadians and White people. Conservatives don't march and attack people, call for genocide or attack people. We don't burn things, or vandalize and loot.

The left does.

The group that calls themselves tolerant
( as long as you agree with them 100% or ELSE )
