Interesting. Is this a leaked proposal?

I know they're running some internal competition. It would be nice to see the design options.

That looks amazing.

That's at least 1,000 feet tall, far surpassing expectations.

ANOTHER SUPERTALL FOR THE WORLD CAPITAL!

Only in NY!

I'm gonna go ahead and assume that this is purely a concept, but it I guess it bodes well for the actual proposal if it's similar. I think something of this height fits the location well and I'm sure whatever rises will be built to a very high standard.

My god NYC is unstoppable.

Yeah, it's a shame we don't get to see more options of the towers that ultimately get built. It's nice to see how different architects achieve the same result.

Whether or not this is the actual proposal, it, nonetheless, indicates the height that we might see.

Regardless of the design ends up being, a gold tower would totally pop in the Midtown skyline.

If LVMH does not use this design, Tampax (or some feminine products company) should use it for their HQ.

The base should contain an element like Zaha’s sports stadium.

The rendering notably lacks 745 Fifth Ave, this could be an artistic choice by whoever rendered this tower, or it could point to this being a hypothetical situation where the entire corner block is redeveloped, which is not likely to happen.

https://therealdeal.com/new-york/2024/09/30/louis-vuitton-moet-hennessy-leases-at-590-madison-ave/

Quote:
Luxury brand conglomerate Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy has leased 150,000 square feet across four office floors of 590 Madison Avenue, according to industry sources — and could also take some of the building’s retail space in the future.
Quote:
The new LVMH space will accommodate its expansion needs and provide “swing space” as the giant company tears down and redevelops the nearby 1 East 57th Street for Louis Vuitton and also reinvents 19 East 57th Street. The latter is a quirky, 1999 glass edifice designed by Christian de Portzamparc. Although an architectural masterpiece, it is technologically obsolete and its odd floor configurations have created an awkward office environment.

^ I was wondering about that. They usually have something up for the holidays. But wouldn't it be nice if all demolition in the city was hidden behind some type of art/display covering the whole scene? Of course, then we wouldn't be able to see the progress of the demo.

Louis Vuitton dresses New York flagship like luxury luggage trunks ahead of Halloween

By Daniel Jonas Roche
October 31, 2024

Quote:
Commuters walking to work this (uncomfortably warm) Halloween morning on New York’s Fifth Avenue may have noticed a costume of mind-boggling proportions: An old building dressed like Louis Vuitton luxury luggage trunks.

Louis Vuitton’s flagship at 1 East 57th Street is being replaced with a building that will nearly double its footprint along Billionaire’s Row. The fashion brand took an interesting approach to masking the construction site when it installed this week what appears to be a faux facade made of oversized Louis Vuitton trunks, its signature item.

The actual accessory can go for anywhere between $35,000 and $60,000. A spokesperson for Louis Vuitton told AN that the installation was designed by the company’s in-house team. The provocation has already caused a social media storm—Redditors are debating whether or not it’s a duck or a decorated shed.
Quote:
...the parent company driving the replacement is LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. That was the same group who backed Tiffany & Company’s flagship redesign by OMA, across 57th Street at 720 Fifth Avenue.

A timeline for the new building at 1 East 57th Street hasn’t been publicly announced.

It's amazing that this demolition site has become an instant tourists magnite in such a short time. At the intersections waiting to cross, everyone was taking photos (and some selfies). I don't usually see that, even at some of the world famous icons in the city. I don't know what building they will put up that will have that effect, but it better be something good.

Let's hope the big statement they're making with this faux facade is carried over to the actual proposal.

Considering the location, we need a real head-turner here, and I think they can pull it off.

What’s the likely height range here? 600’, 800’?
