I think the Green Party is going to be especially strong in the 4-5 ridings where they have a shot in hell. The Liberals are running a former MP against Arseneau in Kent North, but is it really enough to beat the incumbent green who’s won the last two elections? I have to imagine the Greens are pulling out all the stops to keep Kent North, but will it be enough?
I think Kent North could end up being the closest riding in the election, because I think the Liberals have a slightly harder time running against a Green incumbent than a PC incumbent. The Liberals have a much easier case against PC incumbents and seats vacated by the exodus of anti Higgs PCs, and there’s around 8-11 swing seats that the Liberals could win over the PCs. If they can win even five or six of these Holt win the election, and I think they could realistically win as many as nine or ten of them, even with with the Greens retaining their three seats, or even four if they can pull off a huge upset against the PCs in Fredericton North.
I think the PCs are in for a pretty resounding loss on Monday night.
