Nanaimo developments

While I'm happy to see all this development in Nanaimo, I can't say I'm impressed with the way that they all seem to ignore sidewalks and are adverse to creating any kind of urban life aside from housing residents. I worry that these buildings will create dead zones. I hope we see developments with street-level amenities, activation and retail rather than sitting squat in a parking lot or surrounded by shrubs.
