Yeah the pit has been dug for a couple weeks now.
I haven't been by in a bit but it'll be nice to see some steel.

This will be a nice finished product I believe.
I'm a fan of the brick and not the plaster look that most new builds offer.

Farhi and PCR have also been starting site work at Riverside and Janette.
Grade leveling and digging has begun

A notice went out to nearby residents in the area of Lesperance road and the express way for a high rise residential development being proposed. The site is situated between the new, under construction Sheraton hotel and the Tecumseh tower center. I can't confirm the number of units yet.

This for sure.

That building is rather meh, though. Density was definitely their primary concern here (small balcony amenities) kind of a mix of brick stucco and metal cladding.

Agree. Majority of the condo developments in Windsor have been bland and similar in design language. Would be great to have some unique designs.

Work began along the rivers edge at 77 mill street to remove vehicles from the Detroit river. The property which features a dock commonly used for fishing has been restricted to the general public. If I remember correctly a high rise was proposed for this site a couple years back and included renders but I can no longer find them.

A Zoning By-law amendment application has been submitted for an approximate 9.5 hectare (23.5 acre) parcel of land located on south of County Road 22, east of Lesperance Road, within the Manning Road Secondary Plan Area. The purpose of the proposed amendment is to rezone this land from "Agricultural Zone (A-33)" to a site-specific "Holding - Residential Zone 2 (H) R2-7" to permit the future construction of a 332-unit residential development consisting of two 4-6 storey residential
dwellings, each containing 166 units, with associated parking and indoor/outdoor amenity areas.

Is there a catch to the 6 story "towers" ?
I understand the idea of densification and I'm sure its a cost/value thing more than anything else, but holy crap am I tired of hearing about the potential for another 6 story building. Not to mention, if they want to start prioritizing transit usage and walkability, why not encourage these developments towards the core. You can't tell me they don't have the land available. Unused parking lots, vacant properties a plenty. If the room isn't available to built out... then build up.

Little man syndrome is kicking in hard here. Rant over.

The Little Man Syndrome hits harder when you see Kitchener/Waterloo and London with Residential buildings in their core taller than Caesar’s. 4-6 Storeys is something but we can do better for our size.

We are still quite early in our construction boom. There's so much opportunity for infill everywhere and its great that we are seeing alot of these 4-6 storey buildings going up in the suburbs. Hopefully this will boost regional transit and infrastructure improvements (starting to see this already). The core and west Windsor need some work to attract larger developments and I think city council is feeling the pressure now to act, hence the downtown revitalization plan. Hopefully some of the bigger, urban proposals come to reality such as farhis tower or huron church apartments. This may trigger a building boom in those areas.

Farhi Tower I want to say has technically started ?
They've started digging and its fenced off.
I walked by last night to take a look, I don't know how deep they've got to dig but as of now there's portions of it that are a good 15-20 feet deep
