Was the electrical room somewhere around P1/P2 or at the bottom of the parkade?

I went to an open house today with the power still out at around 3pm lol it was quite an experience! Of course I went without knowing the power would be out…and wondered why they did not postpone the showings for another day but the show must go on I guess lol.

They were running on back up generators so the common areas and elevators still had electricity. The building has endless amenities (gym, meeting/study rooms, lounges, etc) and all had power so most people were hanging out there. A few people were hanging out in the hallways charging their devices as well.

A very frustrated/angry man was yelling on the phone to have the electricity fixed “right fking now” (was his exact wording lol) it was quite a disturbance. I thought there was a fight in the lobby.

I was among the group of people in the lobby waiting for open houses when another frustrated tenant (I assume) gave me the death stare + side eye and said out loud for everyone to hear “you’re having open house for this fking building? What a joke”.

Anyway I had fun viewing the apartments and amenities! Hopefully they figure out the flooding situation so people don’t have to suffer without electricity every time it rains too hard.

I don't even know how they could fix the area, unless they excavate Still Creek into a large channel. These events are annual in the area and rains of this magnitude happen once every 5-10 years. Gilmore Place owners should prepare for expensive insurance claims.

I do wonder how —'s Lumber deals with being flooded every year? Are they just a — about and don't care or do their premises reek of mold? Same question for the McDonald's.

What is the actual state right now? Is power on or off?

There are so many comments about electrical equipment taking months to repair/replace, mold, insurance claims, strata insurance/fess skyrocketing, etc., that it is not clear what is reality and what is fear mongering.

Previous comment was that power was back on at 7PM on Saturday. Was that false or did it go out again after that?

There's a marshy area that was built south of the Tandem complex that is supposed to handle flooding, but this must have been too much for it.

Don't they have one level underground + a surface and above-grade parkade? Or at least Tandem 3?

I would check with customer service. This doesn't sound right especially since the occupancy permit has been issued and units at various levels are now selling and having open houses.

Has anyone actually completed their Tower 2 inspection? I'm on the 9th floor and I haven't done it yet.

I have! I’m on 7. I did it at the end of June. Shortly after they paused everything. It was a very informative and thorough inspection I thought. I’m wondering if they started the inspections again..

I just contacted Onni and they said they have no parking stalls for sale. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can purchase a stall in the project? Can a private sale between owners be done?

Yeah, mods should be more active on this. People should join building Facebook groups, as has been linked before and deal with that nonsense there.
