I have lived in Alberta and the Interior of BC. The most socially right-wing/conservative people I have met reside in Richmond and North Vancouver...and it's well known in the Iranian or Chinese community.
I'm pretty sure you're more likely to be Christian (or at least religious) in the Lower Mainland than in the interior. Conservatives in the BC interior are not generally bible thumpers, like I said before in less kind terms they're more "less government, less tax, more industry, more money, more freedom" conservatives (with perhaps a degree of "less mass migration, less gender ideology, less natives"). The average resident of Burnaby is more likely to be Christian than the average resident of Nelson, Prince George, or Kamloops, and that's not even the most Christian or most religious Lower Mainland municipality.

Coroners Service says it has no record of any recent drug toxicity death at a Vancouver intersection where B.C. Conservative Leader John Rustad said he saw a man die while on his way to a televised election debate — a story the Tory leader would later change completely.
LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE. Imagine using the toxicity tragedy to to score political points. His wife says, "He's a good man". In who's world?

New Ipsos Poll has NDP up by 5 points (46 NDP, BCC 41, Green 10)

Quote:
The NDP leads among older voters (NDP 56% vs. CONS 35% among 55+ years), while the Conservatives lead among younger voters (CONS 53% vs. NDP 31%). The two parties are effectively tied among voters in the middle (NDP 43% vs. CONS 41% among 35-54 years).
That's a massive 21 point the NDP has on older voters.

Gee, I thought the standard line was old folks are NIMBYs who wouldn't like the NDP housing rules?

Poll results also depend on who responds to polls.

Yeah, Mainstreet's phone polls lean right and the online ones lean left. In general though, women and everybody old enough to remember the Liberals want nothing to do with the Cons, while Gen Z males don't remember and now they want "change;" they might flip back if/when housing and healthcare turn around.

There's also seemingly a lot of confusion between the provincial and federal Cons - many voters think they're voting out JT this year.

Where or how does Ipsos Poll get there data? Phone call or/and on the streets?
If it's a phone call, I wonder if pollsters have or know the age associated with the phone number for a 'margin of error' in the results.
I got a Logit Group call yesterday, I (55 and older) did not answer the call (I don't answer any unknow caller). If they have that info, they should give us that percentage of calls not answered by age demographics.
If 80% of old folks did not answer the call and 80% of younger voters did answer the call, the margin of error would be more than 4 or 5%.

Exactly.
I don't answer unknown calls and have had at least 3 pollsters call that I did not respond to (based on messages left).

New post debate Angus Reid poll gives NDP 5 point lead

Interestingly, about 60% said their image of Rustad has worsened, vs about 30% for Eby.

BCC really picked a winner with Brent Chapman eh? And Rustad has stated he won't boot any candidates, but that its the voters responsibility if they want to keep him out of office. Way ro take responsibility for your party John.

Calls deepen for Conservative candidate to resign after another offensive social media post surfaces

Surrey South candidate Brent Chapman posted in 2017 that he believes the Quebec Mosque shooting, as well as those at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and the Pulse Night Club in Orlando, were faked.

In the post, Chapman wrote he believes the shootings had “sketchy stories” and were designed to take away people’s rights.

“Look, I really hope no one was actually killed at these events,” Chapman wrote, “but in the Orlando nightclub shooting, the people that talked to the press were not actually shot.”

On his campaign’s official X dot com account, Chapman shared a meme equating public health policies and “harm reduction” with the Holocaust.

The meme features an iconic photo from the 1943 Warsaw Ghetto Uprising showing a young Jewish boy being led out of a bunker at gunpoint by Nazi SS officers.

“Nazi scum gave children candy before the kids entered the gas chamber, the meme states. “NDP and Liberal scum hand out ‘safe supply’ and encourage youth to visit injection sites.”

Brent Chapman, the Conservative Party’s candidate for Surrey South, was already facing calls to step down just over a week before the provincial election after calling Palestinian children “time bombs.”

On Friday, Chapman was under fire on another front after CKNW host Jas Johal posted a video clip on X of Chapman discussing residential schools with podcast host Maryann Gebaur, who described what happened at residential schools as a “massive fraud,” questioning “why are we made to feel so ashamed as Canadians?”

The only way to take Rustad for his word is if a BCC Candidate came out as a communist. I really wonder if he would stand by them then.

I await the already delayed platform and spending plan to be released by the BCC tomorrow, less than a week before the general election. Just with the nuts and bolts of governing, they seem unprepared

According to the 2021 census there was nearly 1 million people in BC age 0-19. In that same year there were ~130,000 people in Surrey aged 0-19.

Angus Reid is Junk, NDP should still be panicking

Mainstreet Polls continuously look utterly atrocious for the NDP with Tomorrow allegedly showing an NDP decline and Green improvement

Every pollster has the NDP 1 to 6 points ahead.

Angus Reid +5
Pallas +1
Ipsos +5
Pollara +2
Leger +5
Some others +5

Mainstreet is the only with with the BCC at 6 points. They put out a new poll every day which makes the polls seem closer than they are when you average them out. I believe it will be closer than those polls but Mainstreet is the outlier. I should add that Mainstrret was off by 7 points in Alberta last year with their rolling polls.

And Most of those polls show the NDP doing WAY Too well in the Interior which makes me question the entire reliability of the rest of their poll data.

I'm still panicking. Evil political parties and movements keep over performing globally from Trump to Brexit to Le Pen to Poilievre, and Now BC.

I am scared
