Amazing - I feel we all should have chipped in for this! Looking forward to your posts (even more so now).

The maximum wind tolerance is around 29 km/h, so I'm hoping for some less windy days after I get it.

I took some pictures yesterday of various rental projects, many units in the final stages should hit the market soon. https://imgur.com/a/YuRf4N5

Why do the last 2 posts seem like ads or a bot posted them. A bot would actually explain so much about that account...

You can edit your posts to put a title so that we aren’t confused especially if you are copy paste quoting an article.

Kitty corner to the Cargill plant, north of Dewdney and west of the grid road.

Got a quick test of the drone tonight but ran out of daylight. https://imgur.com/a/IeuXxCe

It was too windy in the afternoon so I waited until after supper. I was going to try it out in Westerra first, but after I got setup I got a warning I was in a restricted zone and it wouldn't allow launch, though according to the map I should have been just outside it.

So I moved over the the Cargill plant. Semis were hauling gravel down the grid road for the rail line, so I didn't go as far down the road as I was planning. I took off with the lens cap on so I needed to land again to take it off.

I checked the flight restriction map when I got home and it looks like the restricted area shouldn't cause me too many problems. The NE corner of Harbour Landing by the Coop falls within it.

Added some more pictures from today. https://imgur.com/a/IeuXxCe

It turns there is a very large authorization zone covering a good chunk of the city. I'll have to look into that more since I've seen videos from people flying within that area as it includes Fiacco Plaza and Wascana Park.

edit: Think I figured out how to unlock, just need to go into an authorization zone to try it. Need to attempt a launch while in the zone and it will ask you to confirm, after that you're golden. The airport flight paths will remain locked out.

I was able to fly in that zone today but it was too windy. Got a shot of the Avana site by the Westerra Coop, I'll have to go by there again when its less windy so I can go higher.

Interesting that Aurora Retail Corp has just pulled millions in building permits for this property even though it seems to be an Avana build.

I wonder if Avana builds everything with their name on it or if they also act as a rental operator for properties built by 3rd parties. Or its possible that Costco owns the entire Aurora block and permits have to be submitted under the holding company for their leasees.

Also it would be nice if this forum auto resized big images since all cameras take huge images these days. I usually avoid posting images directly due to the hassle of resizing them manually first.

I believe Aurora Retail Corp is Forster Harvard who developed the whole area. My belief is that Avana has not yet taken title to the land (probably waiting on financing) so Aurora had to take out the initial permits. Costco does not own the land.

Regarding picture sizes, it is a huge effort to make then smaller. This platform is running on 20 year old technology.

I don’t mind but yes it does take extra effort to resize. Loving the drone pictures.

I apologize as this is not Construction related but.

Does this picture remind anyone else of the "what's in the box" scene of the movie Seven with Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt?
