Squirrels are one thing that I know we have, and I vaguely recall seeing them, but I mean... so rare. And usually when out hiking in the wilderness. I've never seen one at my place.

EDIT: BTW, quick update for any of ye following along that every possible test and result is done and my mother is fine. They'll keep monitoring, of course, but she's good to go. And she has a... not sure if prosthetic is the right word?... new, fancier fake breast to replace the one that was removed, so she's mentally satisfied/confident again. Got my fingers and toes crossed for your good news to come too, Mc.

Long range weather looks good for another week. Still no freezing.

Inside the city you'll only see them in Bowring Park, but outside the city squirrels are everywhere. Very easy to hear their chirp and know one is near you.

So I'm not crazy, in this regard at least. Yay!

BUT your post reminded me of one place I've seen them: Kent's Pond! Lunch break walks around there, saw them a few times!

String lights make all the difference! Let us know how the solar lights work out. Mine are plugged in with LED bulbs that have lasted forever...

After a good overnight soaking the day was a bit of a mixed bag depending on when and where you were.
Sunny, cloudy, wet, dry.

Friday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 15 C, the low was 11 C.

The guy hanging off the right side of Scotia Plaza didn't seem like a cleaner. And he didn't jump that I saw, so I assume just urban explorer.

And a morning update from jeddy1989 visiting MTL:

An aside, his husband is still stuck in Portugal (their immigration system is going through it, and they're still waiting for paperwork they were supposed to get in June), so his parents went to MTL to support him in the marathon.

It's been so long since they stayed for a while in a North America, skyscraper-heavy downtown that they're consciously struck by it. jeddy1989's father loves it and might plan their next vacation on this continent instead of their usual Europe

13C and raining in Moncton at 11 AM, only getting up to 16C this afternoon.

Aftern nearly two months of drought in southeastern NB, the entire upcoming week will be wet. The rain is most needed however, and, with the perpetual cloud, there is no risk of overnight freezing, at least for the entirety of the forecast period.

Ottawa hasn't recorded a temperature below 3°C in 160 days, which is the longest run on record.

https://www.reddit.com/r/OttawaWxRecords...asnt_recorded_a_temperature_below_3c_in/

Might end that streak tonight.

What a beautiful country! But are there any bad places in Canada? Sometimes I think not.

Montreal is now 3rd all-time as far as consecutive lows above 5C. The longest 2 streaks are before anyone's lifetime. Coolest nighttime temperature so far is 7.1C.
