Has ground broken on the new library? Do we have any sense of how much the project was scaled back?

There IS WORK currently happening on the site, but I am not sure if that is just remediation work or if it is actually the start of construction.

Random question. Does anyone know what's going on in the parking lot across the street from the old/current downtown library? It's full of construction trailers, etc.

I was on the Sundance Hot Air Balloon this week.
Great experience to see the city.

It hits a lot different seeing from the sky just how much land the U of S has in the middle of the city for agriculture research...also the rushhour traffic down College.

Well, it's been years I've been on this site and I still can't figure out how to post an image or why it's so complicated...

Anyway here's the Imgur link to a couple of the photos:

I agree that posting photos needs to be simpler. I would definitely add more to the conversation..

Just click on the image icon above and paste the image link (not the page link) into the box that pops up. Unfortunately in this case it was extra large.

Also, if you want to post directly from your own phone pics, just go to ImgBB.com and upload.

It is free and you do not even need to sign in. You just select the BBCode full linked from the drop down and copy that code and past it directly into your post. No need to use the image icon for this method. See screenshot below that I uploaded. Super easy once you have don it once or twice.

Link BRT update (I signed up for a city newsletter with project updates)

The first hard infrastructure is complete... WB platform at 8th and Arlington. Shelter and wayfinding to be installed closer to service launch.

From the newsletter:

"It is anticipated that construction of the Link system, starting with 14 platforms being completed this year, will continue through 2027 with an anticipated service launch date in 2028."

By TERRY PUGH
Clark's Crossing Gazette

Three municipal partners involved in a feasibility study to identify potential sites for shared regional services have agreed in principle to a plan proposed by a consulting engineering firm.

Martensville City Council voted at its regular meeting on Tuesday, September 17 to approve the Partnership for Growth (P4G) Regional Node Study final report prepared by ISL Engineering and Land Services (ISL).

The RM of Corman Park council passed a similar resolution at its meeting on Monday, September 23. Both municipalities were signatories to the funding application to the provincial government to undertake the project.
