There are more suburbs that have tall proposals, you're missing 74 of them actually: https://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?searchID=106639167

These are the proposals from Brampton, Markham, Oakville, Ajax and Pickering. None are U/C or built from these suburbs.

The GTA skyscraper total is actually 626!

626 buildings of at least 150 m (500 ft) is astonishing.

I had Brampton and Markham in my 100m+ counts but didn't realize they now have 150m+ buildings in the pipeline too. I hadn't considered Oakville, Ajax, and Pickering at all. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. It's astonishing how the GTA is growing. Hamilton looks like it's on the cusp of going vertical as well. About time really.

Should not draw any conclusions comparing the number of New York proposals to the number in Toronto. New York has a streamlined zoning process. Toronto's numbers are extremely bloated with its process

New York's advantage is a global luxury market with taller floor heights and few units per floor. A tower like this could be under construction before the height is even known.

NYC has 3 times as many real skyscrapers as Toronto does. (~350 to ~126)

It will be a long time before Toronto catches up, if ever.
